Painting

YAY! I’m going to finish painting my sewing room today! It’s been a slow process I know! I put the primer on the walls over a week ago, then just couldn’t find the momentum to go in there & paint! Day before yesterday I finally made my self do it. The room has 10 foot ceilings and a chair rail that goes all the way around the room, it’s a lot of ladder climbing, up & down all the time. I have the bruises on my legs to prove it! I painted a light cream color from the chair rail up to the ceiling, then couldn’t decide what to do on the bottom, under the chair rail. I had originally planned to do a darker beige, but decided I wanted something else, just didnt’ know what. I went to Home Depot yesterday and found a pretty green and that’s what I’m going to do. I’ll post pictures when I’m done! At least this won’t require me going up & down the ladder, it will go much faster.

Thanks! I thought I’d be done by now, but realized what a mess the previous home owner had made of all the white trim. So, after finishing the walls, I washed and primed all the trim and will paint it tomorrow. Then, I’ll be done! I really like the color, I can’t wait to share a picture with everybody!

Yep, too busy I think sometimes! I just finished painting the trim and actually hung the drapes. I’m waiting for my husband to help me rearrange the furniture and then I’ll post a picture of the new look!

Lynne, your home looks beautiful! I am always painting my homes too. My nick-name is paint-can-Annie. During a six month period – from last October to April 07 – Mike and I painted three different houses. Thank you for the compliment on my grandfather’s paintings. We think they are beautiful. Robyn and I are trying to find as many painting as we can. And we do want to get them cataloged, or in some kind of order and display. I don’t know what his inspiration was, except to say that most of his art work was of nature. We have a few painting of small animals. I know of at least one painting that was given to a friend of my mother’s. I still have some contact there, and hope to actually get the painting. It was offered some years ago, and we didn’t take advantage of it.Peggy

Peggy – Thanks! I don’t really enjoy painting, but I definitely enjoy the end results. It’s such an easy way to do a makeover of a room or whole house. Best of luck with your search for those painting. I hope you are able to find them and get photographs of all of them. That’s quite a legacy your grandfather left behind.
