My daughter has named the puppy, her new name is Plinko. Anyone who’s ever watched the Price is Right will know what Plinko is. The puppy had a good day yesterday, took 3 naps and played a lot with my daughter and her friend. My daughter worked all with her all day teaching her to sleep in her bed which is inside of her crate. We played with her extra hard in the evening just to make sure she was really tired. She went to bed around 9:30 last night and amazingly, slept through the night! At least I think she did, I was so tired myself that I was out like a rock! I woke up at 6:15 this morning to some little cries. She was awake and so excited to see me this morning! She had tinkled in her crate once, but went outside as soon as I let her this morning and did all of her business outside. She is just so funny to watch. I wanted to post these pictures so everyone can see how comfortable this puppy is in her new home. These both show how she sleeps in her new bed.

We made it through our first night with the new puppy, barely! Actually, she went to bed pretty easily, fell asleep right outside of her crate at 9:15 last night. My daughter placed her in the crate and she fell asleep after only a little whining. About 1:30 in the morning she was crying so I took her outside where she pottied and then I put her back in her crate and headed for beaded. She cried fairly loudly for about 10 minutes and then fell back asleep. Not for long though. I woke up to crying again at 2:30 and tried to repeat the earlier routine, but this time, after going outside, she decided she wanted to play, not sleep. I tried leaving her in her crate but the noise was horrible. Before long, the whole family was up trying to figure out what to do. Eventually, around 3:30, she got tired again. I got her back in her crate where she whimpered for about 5 minutes and then we all went back to bed. It would’ve been a great moring to sleep in, but unfortunately, hard as he tried not to, my husband woke up the puppy as he was trying to leave to go to work just before 7 am. My daughter and I both got up then and began our day.
Things are going pretty smoothly so far today. My daughter is working really hard with the dog and our goal today is to teach her to sleep in her bed inside her crate. She’s currently on her second nap of the day and she’s in the crate, asleep, with her paws hanging out the open door. She’s so funny, she likes to lay in her bed with her head hanging out and she looks almost like she’s doing a headstand! I can’t get a picture of that now because the batteries went dead on my digital camera and I can’t get to the store just yet.

Our new puggle puppy is here! We picked her up from the breeder late this afternoon. She is absolutely adorable and my daughter is having so much fun with her. We are so happy to have this new addition. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow after our puppy’s first night of sleeping by herself in her crate! She doesn’t have an official name yet, we’re waiting to see more of her personality before making a final decision

Wow! Just think, you could win an IPod Shuffle! I found this contest at ToastTheTrends- Life and it’s really pretty simple. Post a link on your site, email the info to a friend or even comment on ToastTheTrends- Life and you get an entry into the contest. This is pretty cool and I for one wouldn’t mind winning an IPod! There needs to be a minimum of 50 entries for this contest to work, so head on over and make your entry known!
While you’re there, check out the rest of their blog, they have some pretty interesting posts.

Do you ever have one of those days where you feel like you got so much done? That’s how my morning went. I started the day by doing a load of laundry and paying some bills. Once my daughter got out of bed, I got her going too. Got her to get a shower & get dressed so we could get out and run some errands. I like getting errands done early before places start to get too crowded. We headed out the door and I don’t think it was even 10 A.M.! First we took the van in for an oil change. Amazingly the place was able to take us right in and we were out of there by 11! Then, off we went to have to pool water tested. Another amazement, the water was actually chemically balanced. This was a first for us! Since we bought the house in April, we’ve had the water tested every couple of weeks and each time we’ve been told to add this or that to bring it to the right balance. It’s always something different, too little chlorine, too much chlorine, ph is high, ph is low, etc., etc…. Two weeks ago, I did a major cut back on the chemicals we were adding to the pool and today, it’s all in balance! Now, I just have to keep it there.
Anyway, after getting the good news about the pool, we went into Hallmark. My daughter is into the whole Webkinz craze and she wanted to see if they had anything new in the store. She wound up buying 2 packages of their trading cards. We left there and went to Wendy’s for lunch. Got it to go and ran by the local Antique Mall who also carries Webkinz. She wound up getting a cute little huskie dog and she got a chocolate lab to give a friend as a going away gift. We then went to the ATM machine to do some banking and went on to put gas in the van. Came on home and ate our lunch and worked on organizing some drawers. Now I feel like I sit down and be on the computer without feeling like I didn’t get anything done today!

Join BlogCatalog this Wednesday in the first world wide blogger social campaign to raise awareness about organ donation and the issues surrounding organ donation Success Story! Simply blog about the issue! Remember, organ donation is donating the gift of life.
Alex Pratt of Los Angeles suffered from kidney disease for over 20 years. It was a huge burden on his wife and two children until he received his first transplant in 1993. Unfortunately, it only lasted 9 years, so he had to wait another four years for a second transplant. He would have never gotten a second chance if not for Matchingdonors.com and a paired donation program at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
This is a great opportunity to show that bloggers can come together to do good in the world, raising awareness and asking tough questions about causes and issues that do not always get the attention they deserve.

I’ve been thinking about buying an ice cream maker. Trouble is, I have no idea which are good ones and which are not. I got an email today showing this one at Cooking.com. I was just wanting to get some opinions on ice cream makers if any other bloggers own one. Please let me know things you may like or dislike about the ice-cream maker you have.

I know that I am not the only one who has just recently joined the world of blogging. My sister got me hooked up and really did all the work setting up my blog. Now it’s up to me to make it a success. Can I just say how freaked out I was when I realized I had to remember how to do html! I hadn’t written any code of any kind for many years and I had an instant feeling of panic. I don’t want to let my sister down! Then, to make matters worse, my 11 year old daughter had to help me with some sidebar placement and I thought this is rediculous, I should know how to do this! Thankfully, to my relief, I discovered NewBlogger.net. This blog is filled with step by step instruction by Donovan and written in terms that even I, the technologically challenged, can pretty well understand. So if you’re like me, just trying to learn, this is a must visit blog!
