Sewing Project
Since purchasing my new Viking sewing machine last summer, I’ve made quite a few bags for various people. Most of the bags have been given as gifts, although I have sold a couple of them and made a couple special orders. I’ve always visited quilt stores with my mom who is a fabulous quilter, but I’ve never learned how to do that. I’ve always enjoyed looking at all the beautiful fabrics though when I go with her and had a desire to do something, just didn’t know what. Once day last summer, we were in a wonderful quilt shop in Lockport, IL and I found a fairly simple pattern for a bag and I was off! I had finally found a reason for myself to purchase some of that beautiful fabric.
This is a bag I actually made from fabric my sister purchased in a quilt shop in North Carolina. She is giving the bag as a gift to a friend suffering from cancer. Normally the pockets are on the outside of the bag, but I couldn’t bring myself to cover up the fabulous print on this fabric, so I reversed the pattern and put the pockets on the inside.
