Jean-Luc - Thanks for the advice! I was thinking the backyard would be the easiest place to start too, but then quickly realized that Plinko is used to going out in the backyard to go potty. So, she was not interested in learning to walk on her leash out in the yard! We decided yesterday to go out front to work on this new skill. We walked to the end of our cul-de-sac and back. She did okay and I repeated it this morning. Hopefully she will catch on quickly and we can begin extending our walks. :-D

Karen, according to the Spike's owner, she has a little tiny dog with a big dog name. I'm not a big fan of chiwawas, but this one is sort of cute.

Plinko sounds like she has quite a winning personality. I would say leash walking is best in the back yard until you feel she is ready to go on the road.
