Sometimes I Feel Organized, Sometimes I Don’t

I’m working on getting our vehicles licensed in the state of Texas.  The first step is getting them inspected, it’s a combination safety and emissions testing.  I got the car taken care of last week and had planned on getting the van done earlier this week.  Well, we all know about my adventurous day on Tuesday and I still haven’t driven the van the minimum 50 miles that I was told it had to be driven before it could be tested after having the new battery installed. So, it will probably be Monday before I can have that done.

In the mean time, I’ve been making sure I have all the registration paperwork ready to take to the County Tax office to register for Texas license plates. Well, I do have everything on the car. The van however, is proving to be difficult, yet again. We received clear title to our van in the mail a few weeks after moving to Texas. Our new house was still in chaos with moving boxes everywhere, but I tried to at least keep papers where they belong. Guess I didn’t do as good a job as I thought I did because now I can’t find the title.

I have spent the last week searching for that title. I have looked high and low and cannot find it. I went through every stack of papers in the kitchen (actually, there were only two small stacks). I went through my “to-do” basket and found there was nothing in it to do! I cleaned out two cabinets and 2 file drawers, shredding as I went. I got my desk cleaned off and cleaned out my night stand drawer. I have no idea where that title is. I’m really getting frustrated with myself!

I guess the good news is that I cleaned out several files and got a lot of papers and old receipts shredded. I filled and emptied my shredder twice today in fact. My desk looks a lot better too and a lot of papers went to recycling. I even cleaned out all the phone books and got rid of a few. I just can’t think of where to look next, guess I’ll just have to sleep on it and hope I feel inspired tomorrow!

Good luck on finding that title! I was looking for a receipt a couple of months ago and I searched high and low for the stupid thing! I found it a week or two ago…in a bag in my daughter’s closet! I can’t even remember putting it there, but I don’t need it anymore!!!

I hate not being to find something. You would THINK that would make me organized….NOT!!!

Maybe you’ll dream about where it is tonight!

    hi lynne!
thanks for dropping by. i’ll tell my hubby about your fridge. i’m sure, he’ll be thrilled to find out there’s an option. i’m actually kind of tired dealing with the magnets in the kitchen because clean-up is tedious and taking them off per piece is just too much.

    thanks for the suggestion.

    Hello Lynne

Thanks for visiting my blog. I have added you to my feed reader. :)

Yup, I can relate to this. Sometimes life flows and sometimes everything feels like clawing your way up a sheer wall. ;)

Thanks for stopping by Leann! I keep trying to get myself organized, I buy file systems, shelves, organizers, etc. I still end up with piles of paper. I think what I need is a robot that does the actually filing for me!

Linda – Yes, it’s the wall I’m climbing now. But, I’m starting to see the top of it since I finally found the title to the vehicle! I’m hoping to wrap up that task early this week and then I can move on to whatever is next. Thanks for stopping by to visit! :-D

Juliana – I know what you mean. I hate taking all that stuff of the frig to clean! When we got our new frig I swore to allow only one piece of my daughter’s artwork on it and her school lunch menu is on the side. I really like having the magnetic board in another area that I can clutter up to my hearts content! :-D
