Prayer Chain

Prayer Chain

I have a very dear friend who, 6 years ago was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through a mastectomy and did everything she was supposed to do, by the book. Followed doctor’s orders all the way when finally, after 5 years, she was given a clean bill of health. Just a few months later she was suffering from severe headaches. Nothing otc would work so she went to her dr. for a prescription. He tried different sinus medications, but when nothing worked they did an MRI. They discovered tumors attached to her brain. Further testing resulted in the dr’s discovering she now had cancer through her bones, in her lungs and several other places.

Prayers were immediately started by everyone who knows her and prayer chains were sent out across the globe. After having brain surgery to remove the larger tumors and undergoing radiation and chemo treatments, she has received some good news, finally. The tumors on her brain are gone and the other areas of her body are stable. She had been told several months ago by dr’s at the Mayo clinic that there was nothing that could be done anymore. Nothing but prayer. My belief in prayer has strengthened through her ordeal.

I was reading Life in the Country where I have learned of a fellow blogger who has suffered a very similar diagnosis. While I personally do not know this person I do believe strongly that prayer works. It does not require that we know the individual in need, only that we pray. I ask anyone reading this to do just that, please pray for Sepha and please read her blog to learn more about this dynamic individual.

    hi lynne!
first, I’d like to thank you for your kind words and for dropping by my site again.

I wanted to let you know too, that I have a very close friend also in the same situation as Sepha. She was diagnosed in 2000 with breast cancer, went through all the necessary treatments and surgeries. In 2002 the cancer had spread in her liver and lymph nodes and shortly after chemo she went in remission. Unluckily, in 2005, she found out that the cancer had metastasized in her brain and they found 3 large tumors. She had gamma surgery and all the follow up treatments and for now she seem to be doing well except that the tumors are still there. Yes, they just decreased in size.

As you stated in your post, there’s not much else we can do, but pray. Who would have thought this friend of mine is still here and fighting. You wouldn’t know she has the CA as she is very active and currently working full time. I believe in the power of prayers and my friend surely is a testament to that.

Juliana -It is amazing to me how many of these stories of survival sound so similar. My friend had planned on doing the gamma surgery but after having the radiation and chemo the dr’s felt it wouldn’t be beneficial. I find it so awesome that even with dr’s saying there is nothing that can be done in these cases. And yet, we never stop praying. Through prayer, all things are possible. It is so wonderful to hear of your friends health! I say never quit fighting and never quit praying!
