Morning Alarm Clock

Morning Alarm Clock

Shew, having a head cold and having to get up early do not mix well together! My daughter had to be at school this morning early for her 1st day of Security Patrol. Since she had to be there early that meant I had to get up early to make her lunch and drive her to school. I could have used a wake up call service this morning like they provide at hotels!

My husband gets up before I do and he wakes up to his own alarm clock. He is supposed to wake me up 30 minutes later, but this doesn’t always work. I have my own alarm clock but it is so difficult to use and usually blares at me making me crabby! I can’t seem to get it to play at a lower volume.  It would be so nice to wake up to a quiet voice telling me the weather forecast or a fun fact of the day, something more interesting then a stupid commercial.

There are a variety of ways to be woken up with a wake up service such as news headlines, jokes, weather forecasts, even fun facts of the day. It would be fun to record your own message too!  Of course, I would definitely need to utilize a wake up call snooze service as well! I am not a morning person and by the end of the week I fight even harder to get out of bed.

Puppy Potty Training – Frustrated

Okay, we’ve had Plinko with us now for about three months and she is STILL NOT POTTY TRAINED!  I am getting so frustrated.  She can be so good, but she still goes in the house once or twice every day.  She is so very smart and yet she doesn’t seem to get this whole idea of needing to do her business outside!

This morning I took her out and I even sat outside for a while with her until I got too hot and came in.  She stayed out another 20 minutes or so before she came and scratched at the door wanting in.  I let her in and sat back down on the sofa and she promptly walked in front of me and peed!  I couldn’t believe it, she’d been inside an entire 30 seconds, if that long!  I ran back to the door calling for her and she sat staring at me.   I finally got her out and carried her out to the yard and nothing happened.  She started wandering around the yard so I finally came back inside without her.

Now, just a few minutes ago, she came scratching at the door to get in, I let her in.  About 20 seconds went by and she went back and stood at the door looking at me.  I let her out and she went out and peed!  Go figure.  Why will she do it sometimes and not others?  I’m at a loss as to how to make it get better.

By the way, did you notice that when she wants to come IN, she scratches at the door.  When she wants to go OUT, she just sort of stands there.  Usually, if we don’t happen to see her standing at the door, she’ll just pee right where she’s standing.  Mind you, you have about a 10 second window from the time she gets to the door to the time you open the door before she just pees on the floor.  I don’t get as frustrated with this only because I feel like at least she is going to the door!  It’s when she pees on the carpet, making no effort to get outside, that I get frustrated.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Comparing Auto Insurance Rates

When we relocated from Illinois to Texas back in April I had to spend time finding a new insurance policy for our vehicles.  This is such a time consuming activity, one I really don’t like to do.  I started the process by calling our agent and asking for an agent’s name for where we were moving to. Of course they gave me a name & number and I called, spent time giving the new agent all of our information and was then given a quote on our new policy.

Since we were having to set up a new policy anyway I thought this was a good time to get a rate comparison. I went online to another major insurer’s website and found an agent in the town we were moving to. I gave her a call, spent time giving her all of our information and was then given a rate quote. This all sounds very simple, but it was definitely time consuming. It took so much time that I didn’t call any other companies. I really wish I had known about Advantageauto Quotes. I could have simply gone to their website, typed in what state I live in and gone from there. I would’ve only had to give my information out one time and they provide auto insurance quotes from several different companies. They use most major insurers as well as some of the smaller companies. They also insure all types of vehicles and all types of drivers.

It sure would have saved me time and I could have been online anytime that was convenient for me, not trying do all of this during typical business hours when I had so many other things to do to get ready for our move. I could have received my insurance quotes online and saved myself a lot of time. Who knows, I probably would’ve saved myself some money too.
