Damn dog! I had all of my blogging related log-in information with passwords written down. Somehow the dog, yes the cute little one I keep posting pictures of, ATE the piece of paper with all of that info on it! I had no idea until I saw something on the carpet and when I picked it up I recognized a small corner that had my writing on it. My daughter looked at me holding this little tiny piece of chewed up paper and she knew instantly what it was, her eyes got huge!
Well, I just figured there’s nothing I can do now, the deed is done. So, I sat myself down with a piece of paper and pencil and from memory wrote the ones I could and then went back through all my notes from when my sister was originally setting up my blog and found some I was missing. What a total pain in the butt! I better find a cute picture to look at so I don’t kill the dog!
How about this one?

I am just a wee bit ticked off right now. It’s been 24 hours since I received a postcard in the mail from our Homeowner’s Association and I’m still ticked off about it! I’m trying to decide what to do. Before I tell you what the post card says I have to tell you some background.
We moved into this house in April. The house was built very well in 2001 but was in need of some TLC due to the previous owners treating it like it was their own personal hockey rink. I’m not kidding when I say that! Their teenage son plays ice hockey and apparently practiced all over the house, inside and out. There are dings and dents everywhere. In addition, there are holes in the walls from the gazillion 10-penny nails they used EVERYWHERE to hang pictures. I’ve been repairing and repainting walls since we moved in. All of this damage was carefully concealed by the previous owners. They were still moving out when we did our walk thru so we didn’t see a lot of it.
Because I’ve been so busy working on the inside, I spent the extra money and hired a landscaping crew to trim all the bushes (and there are a ton of bushes!) and get rid of all the weeds. Since then, I’ve been maintaining the landscaping, putting in fresh mulch, keeping up with the weeds and doing all my own trimming. My husband mows an immaculate lawn and we have been working on getting rid of all the weeds that had overtaken huge sections of the yard. In other words, we’ve been working our butts off since April.
Yesterday, we got a card in the mail from the Homeowner’s Association requesting we “remove the dead plants by the driveway”. I have to say, I’m ticked! We had about 2 solid weeks of temperatures over 100 and I had the most beautiful plants that were blooming until the heat fried them. They aren’t dead, but they look like sticks. They are still blooming and are getting new leaves. They were injured, but not killed. I think the HOA needed to verify their data. Trust me, around this neighborhood there are much bigger problems than my 4 little plants to worry about!.
Here are pictures, one from the end of the street and one close up so you can see that the plants, while not thriving, are not dead.

I hope you’ll take a look at the article, I’m quite proud of it and my daughter.

There has been so much in the news about designer dogs recently. I only know that we now own one! We decided to get a puggle, half pug, half beagle. She will grow to be about 15 inches tall and around 25 lbs. We’ve had her about 3 months and she is about 1/2 her full size.
She’s quite smart too, we always see the wheels turning in that head of hers. She’s always thinking of her next move and she’s a stalker. We think she’s also part cat! We’re still having potty issues, but they have improved. We changed her food this week too hoping that will help.
We do enjoy having her and I thought I’d share this picture of her. You can see, she’s thinking hard about her next move!

Shew, having a head cold and having to get up early do not mix well together! My daughter had to be at school this morning early for her 1st day of Security Patrol. Since she had to be there early that meant I had to get up early to make her lunch and drive her to school. I could have used a wake up call service this morning like they provide at hotels!
My husband gets up before I do and he wakes up to his own alarm clock. He is supposed to wake me up 30 minutes later, but this doesn’t always work. I have my own alarm clock but it is so difficult to use and usually blares at me making me crabby! I can’t seem to get it to play at a lower volume. It would be so nice to wake up to a quiet voice telling me the weather forecast or a fun fact of the day, something more interesting then a stupid commercial.
There are a variety of ways to be woken up with a wake up service such as news headlines, jokes, weather forecasts, even fun facts of the day. It would be fun to record your own message too! Of course, I would definitely need to utilize a wake up call snooze service as well! I am not a morning person and by the end of the week I fight even harder to get out of bed.

Okay, we’ve had Plinko with us now for about three months and she is STILL NOT POTTY TRAINED! I am getting so frustrated. She can be so good, but she still goes in the house once or twice every day. She is so very smart and yet she doesn’t seem to get this whole idea of needing to do her business outside!
This morning I took her out and I even sat outside for a while with her until I got too hot and came in. She stayed out another 20 minutes or so before she came and scratched at the door wanting in. I let her in and sat back down on the sofa and she promptly walked in front of me and peed! I couldn’t believe it, she’d been inside an entire 30 seconds, if that long! I ran back to the door calling for her and she sat staring at me. I finally got her out and carried her out to the yard and nothing happened. She started wandering around the yard so I finally came back inside without her.
Now, just a few minutes ago, she came scratching at the door to get in, I let her in. About 20 seconds went by and she went back and stood at the door looking at me. I let her out and she went out and peed! Go figure. Why will she do it sometimes and not others? I’m at a loss as to how to make it get better.
By the way, did you notice that when she wants to come IN, she scratches at the door. When she wants to go OUT, she just sort of stands there. Usually, if we don’t happen to see her standing at the door, she’ll just pee right where she’s standing. Mind you, you have about a 10 second window from the time she gets to the door to the time you open the door before she just pees on the floor. I don’t get as frustrated with this only because I feel like at least she is going to the door! It’s when she pees on the carpet, making no effort to get outside, that I get frustrated.
Thanks for letting me vent!
