Wine Club

Wine Club

My husband and I both enjoy drinking good wines. Last year I even bought him a wine refrigerator for his birthdayto store many of our wines in. We have always enjoyed going to wine tastings as well and experiencing wines from around the country. Since we moved to Texas I have found a local wine shop that sells only Texas made wines. Initially I was skeptical, but I’ve found them to be quite good. I’ve bought several different bottles and have given several bottles as gifts. Last time I was in their shop I even considered joining their wine club.

In a wine club you typically will get a wine of the month and it’s a great way to sample new wines. Anytime you join a club like this you want to make sure you have great customer service dedicated to its club members. It’s fun to get hand picked wines sent to you each month, it can really broaden your appeal towards wines you might not otherwise have tasted. Usually club members will get a discount on additional purchases which is a very nice perk, especially if wine is something you like to give as a gift. We are always giving bottles of wine to friends for birthdays or housewarmings. Of course, in joining a wine club, it needs to be cost effective. You want to know you are getting value for your money. Amazing Wine Club has competitive prices and hundreds of wines to choose from. It is truly a gourmet experience.

Trick-or-Treat

Wow!  That was different, much more like it was when I grew up and went trick-or-treating!  It was fun and my daughter I know had a blast.

In Illinois we were told by the village what time the kids could trick-or-treat.  It was always 4:30-7.  This was tough because many parents weren’t home from work yet and many homes had nobody there to pass out candy.  I understand that they did this for safety for the kids, but it made it a little less fun too.

Here in Texas, there was no guideline, it was just like when I was a kid, when it gets dark you go!  It wasn’t quite dark yet, but about 6:30 the little ones came out and got things started.  My daughter had two friends over for the evening to go out with her around the neighborhood.  They handed out candy to the first few groups and then they headed out themselves.  After about an hour she called me to say they were thirsty, so I met up with them and brought them bottles of water.  They did another 40 minutes of door to door and then we came back to our house.  They’re upstairs now sorting their candy and making trades!

It was fun and I’m glad I bought lots of candy so we didn’t run out!

Go Slow

Don’t you wish you get just leave the grind of work behind? I sort of have. I’ve decided to try to make a living doing something I enjoy instead of working day to day just for a paycheck. I work from home now and it’s so much more relaxing, I can “go slow” in my own backyard. Just give me some Hawaiian shirts and some flip flops and I’m good to go. Of course, a margarita won’t hurt either!

Puppy Costume

Okay, I know I posted a picture earlier of Plinko in her pumpkin costume, but before my daughter did that, she put a little t-shirt on the dog that said “princess”.  It was so funny.  It was tight and my husband said it reminded him of one of the half-tops girls used to wear in the 80’s to try to be sexy!  We were rolling laughing, not sure the dog was too happy about it though.

Spyware Protection

I’m finding that the more I scour the internet for shopping, research and other activities, the more likely it becomes that my computer will pick up spyware or adware. I’ve thought about purchasing a spyware software or adware software to combat this problem, but there are so many programs to choose from it’s a bit intimidating for a techno challenged individual like me.

I recently found a site where I was able to read reviews on seven of the best spyware removal systems including a Spyware Doctor Review that will help me choose the best program for my computer. I want to feel safe using my computer and know that my usage isn’t being tracked.

Plinko - The Halloween Dog

Poor Plinko!  My daughter decided last night that Plinko needed a costume.  She looked through her enormous collection of Build-a-Bear clothes and found a pumpkin costume.  It took her quite a while to get it on the poor dog who was not cooperating.  I should’ve had the video camera going on this whole episode.  After finally getting the costume on the dog, Plinko ran outside, went nuts, and then stepped into the pool, so the costume was all wet!

Mobile Web Technology

I have had web access on my cell phone for quite a few years now. Do I use it? Very rarely. I found right away that what you see on the web when using a computer and what you see on the web when using a cell phone are two completely different things, even though you’re typing in identical web addresses. I find that when I can get a website to finally load on my little 2 inch screen, usually, none of the links on the homepage will work.  It’s pretty much worthless most of the time.  While mobile web technology is a great idea, it doesn’t always work the way businesses think it will. Businesses cannot simply rely on their regular website for mobile marketing. Instead, businesses need to check into a mobile website designed specifically for use on the mobile web.

A leader in the field of wap site hosting and mobile web marketing is GoLive! Mobile. From design, hosting and delivery, this company is focused on mobile web space. They will build, host and even help monetize a company’s mobile website. They consistently offer the latest in mobile marketing technology. They will also use a variety of promotional tools to drive customers to your website. One tool, SMS marketing, uses simple text messaging as a means of getting customers to a site, something most of us are doing and understand how to do all ready.

The mobile web is set to take off. GoLive! Mobile is a low cost means for a business to succeed in the mobile web arena.

Costume Complete

YAY!  I finished my daughter’s costume!  The fabric paint and fabric marker are drying, so she can’t model it yet, but I promise to have pictures of it tomorrow.  It actually was very easy to make and I would’ve been done with it on Sunday if I hadn’t run out of fabric paint.  It worked out though because when I went to the hobby store today I found fabric markers that I could use for some of the words that needs to be on the costume.  Some words I created by cutting letters out of felt.  It turned out really cute and I’m anxious to share pictures with you.

By they way, my husband actually carved the pumpkin with my daughter while I was finishing the costume!  Wonders never cease!  :-D

Customer Service

In today’s internet environment, has customer service gone by the way side? Do we as consumers miss that one on one service we used to get when visiting a store or even sitting in on a meeting? So much now is done via computer whether it’s tele-conferencing or shopping, customer service can sometimes be questionable. The personal element in many cases is completely gone. Yet, isn’t great customer service what helps a company become known? Word of mouth is still a strong marketing campaign, but how can you talk about something that doesn’t exist at many online companies?

ProActive Software has set themselves apart by recognizing that their success can be attributed to great and personal customer service. They want their customers to know that there are faces that stand behind their product and strive to maintain personal service.

This press release says it all:

There is nothing like walking out of a shop, satisfied with your purchase, product in hand knowing that you have a face behind the sale.

The Internet in some ways has taken that assurance away from the customer and with the masses of choice only a mouse click away the thought of purchasing a product or service online can be quite daunting.

However, the software as a service (SaaS) industry in New Zealand is fast moving from futuristic idea to current day reality and companies offering SaaS are looking for ways to maintain the personal service which has been a big part of historical software sales.
ProActive Software has found great and personal service to be a key part in their success on the global stage.

CEO Julian Stone says customers have said they’re surprised to get such personal service when dealing with ProActive.

He says “Don’t make sales, build relationships. This is a necessary part of the SaaS business model. Look after your customers as they are the foundation of the business. It’s important to keep customers happy month after month to retain their business.”

Customers of their core product www.proworkflow.com, have told Stone that their dealings with people at other software companies, often based in the US, have been rude, lacked callbacks, with slow email responses, making many customers wary of using SaaS where they had little ability to have personal contact with their supplier.

However, Stone says when customers come across a company with good service, they tell people.

Stone has attributed ProActive’s excellent response time with sales and support enquiries to their customers satisfaction. When customers build their business on our servers and use our code they must know we will be there if something needs attention.

An average enquiry for ProActive, from point of contact, to response is typically 15-60 minutes, where most of ProActive’s customers had said average response times for other software companies was usually measured in days, not minutes or hours.

“If you want to make a sale, sell a good product. If you want to grow a business, sell good service. We’ve found that most referral sales now come in as a result of ProActive Software’s service,” Stone says.

As Stone says “ProActive have built their SaaS company they have always kept service as a top priority, knowing their focus would continually be tested and be drawn onto product development and administration.

ProActive Software knows it is extremely important to keep the level of service constant and high “Customers don’t care that we have ten times as many customer to look after, they don’t care we are on someone else’s problem, they want the high service level maintained - so as we grow we automate, simplify, and when necessary bring in additional resource a bit before it is really needed. It takes a while to build a reputation of not letting down customers, it does not take anywhere near as long to lose it,” Stone Says

Carving Pumpkins

I’m sort of dreading my daughter getting home from school today.  Why?  Because she wants to carve the pumpkins.  Not that I mind, but she draws the face on the pumpkin, then walks away.  I get to deal with the cutting, the scooping, the goop and the clean up. Not to mention the smell.

I don’t know what it is about pumpkin innards, but the smell makes me gag.  Now, if I’m really good, I’ll use Elizabeth’s pumpkin seed recipe. Not sure if I’ll get that movtivated or not!

My husband just informed me that he’s going to a business dinner, so I’m on my own to do the pumpkins, not surprising!
