It is so hot here, still. No, it’s not in the 100’s like it was back in June and July, but it’s in the 90’s and still very humid. It makes it very difficult to believe that it is Fall and October! Halloween will be upon us before we know it and I have yet to start to make my daughter’s Halloween costume.
I got my hopes up yesterday, the local weatherman said a cool front was coming in for the weekend that would bring our daytime temperatures down to the 80’s. Today, they changed their minds and said no, it will stay in the 90’s. It wouldn’t actually be so bad if it still wasn’t so humid. Just walking down to get the mail causes me to break into a sweat!
Guess I’ll just have to sit in the air conditioning and sew a costume. At least my daughter probably won’t have to wear a big winter coat over it like she’s had to do in the past, living in the Midwest!

I am so excited! Anyone who has read my site from the beginning, exactly 90 days ago, knows that my sister got my started blogging. She is a top postie at Pay Per Post and is so enthusiastic about it, her enthusiasm is contagious. She set up my blog for me and got me going. In the last 90 days I’ve learned a lot and I know I have a lot more to learn.
I’ve been so anxious to reach that magical 90 day milestone. I’ve been worried that perhaps, for whatever reason, I wouldn’t get approved. With all the talk about Google PR, and the fact that in the 3 months I’ve been blogging, it hasn’t updated, I had to hope it wouldn’t count against me as I submitted my blog for approval to payperpost but submit I did. I’ve been waiting anxiously, checking my email, checking the PPP site, installing PPP tools. I wanted to be ready! I joined the PPP forum and started reading, learning. Of course, my sister chose now to take a little vacation, so she doesn’t know that…
I’VE BEEN APPROVED!!
This is great! We relocated from Illinois to Texas in April and I quit my job in the process. I really don’t want to go back to work, but I don’t like not having an income. My income paid all the extra things for us, vacations, music lessons, extra gifts, etc. So, I really would like to be able to continue to do those things, especially since my daughter is now also taking guitar lessons in addition to her other activities. I’m giving this a shot and hopefully will be successful with Pay Per Post.
My husband is not so sure of my adventure online, but I want to prove to him that it can be done! My daughter is excited because she is tired of me saying “I don’t have any money right now”.
To all of you, including my sister, who have helped me begin this journey, I thank you!

We had our first Parent Teacher Conference with my daughter’s teacher yesterday. It was really interesting, very different from conferences we’ve had in the past. The school district here is run so differently from the one we left in Illinois. Of course, the results are the same, our daughter is fabulous and so smart! It’s also different because the school year here is broken down in 6 week increments, we’re used to quarters, so it feels like it’s going by even faster! Next year she’ll be in Jr. High! I don’t want it to go any faster!

This is the time of year, from Halloween on, that I know I’m going to gain weight. I just can’t seem to help myself. There is always so much good food around. Halloween candy, then it goes into Thanksgiving, then Christmas. Oh my goodness, the food that is always available. If we were still living in Houston, I’d definitely consider Houston Lap band by one of the foremost lap band doctors in the Houston area! It could be done as an outpatient and I’d be ready for the New Year! I think this is a great alternative for those of us that can’t do a diet plan.
I’m telling you, just thinking about the holidays and eating makes me gain weight!. How about you?

Yesterday, as I was cutting fabric, the strangest thing was going on. I have a long table set up for cutting fabric and I was in the middle of cutting out my valance fabric. As I was cutting off about a 2 inch strip, the cut strip was slowly falling off the back edge of the table.
Mind you, while I was cutting fabric, my little dog was laying by my feet chewing her toy. She was being surprisingly good!
I started noticing however, that the fabric was falling off the back of the table at a faster rate than what I was cutting. Hmmm, I wondered, what was going on? I decided to take a peak under the table, only to see this cute little face looking back at me with fabric hanging out of her mouth and the rest of the it wrapped around her body! She looked like the beginnings of a dog mummy! Of course, she was looking at me like she was the most innocent thing alive! I had to snap a photo. Unfortunately, by the time I got the camera, she had moved, but she did take the fabric strip with her.
