The Sewing Mom

Okay, I finally did it, I spent the money today and got a new draw full of bras!  I am throwing away all my old ones (I think I only have 2 or 3 left!)  I heard on a t.v. show the other day that every woman should own at least 7!  I don’t think I’ve ever owned 7, but now I have 4 really good ones and 1 not as good, but will not be tossed to the curb.

About a month or so ago, my sister had recommended I try a bra from Victoria’s Secret.  I was rather leary about this idea.  I had tried them years ago but never could find one I liked that was also comfortable.  They have certainly changed!  I went in with my friend for moral support and was pleasantly surprised to find not just one, but several styles that I liked and could wear comfortably.   Unfortunately, they are rather pricey so I allowed myself to purchase just one.  During the past month, I wore the one I bought almost daily, with many washings in between.  Although they recommend hand washing, I don’t have time for that.  So, mine goes in the washer on delicate cycle and hangs to dry.  After a month of abuse, it still looks new.

So, when I found out that Victoria’s Secret was having a sale, and, I was meeting my friend for lunch at the mall anyway today, I took the plunge.  I found quite a few on their abundant sale tables and tried on 5 or 6.  I wound up purchasing 3 bras today, two of which were on sale and the other I had a $10 off coupon for.  I am so thrilled to finally have some decent bras!  As I said to my mom, as we age, we need help keeping them in place, at an altitude above our belly buttons!
