As you know,my puppy Plinko has been going to Puppy Training. Well, today was supossed to be the day when little Plinko graduated. The day before my daughter gave her a bath, cleaned her ears, and brushed her teeth to get Plinko all ready for the big day. With every special event, you need to take pictures! I made sure to put the camera in my purse the night before. Today, around 12:15 we hit the road attempting to get there early so she could socialize before training began. About half way there, my phone rings. I answer it and its PetSmart calling to say that the instructor got sick and would not be able to come to work that day so they would resehedule the graduation. Bummer! So, instead of going to training we ended up at Wendy’s to grab some lunch and head home for the day.

If I’ve calculated correctly, my husband should have arrived at his destination for the night, Singapore. He’ll then be headed off within hours to Penang for a day and then back to Singapore. He’ll be there a few days, then it’s off to Hong Kong and then Shanghai. I don’t know about you, but I’m having trouble keeping track and with the time changes, I really don’t know where he is at any given moment in time. I just hope I don’t need to reach him in an emergency situation! Last time he was in Singapore, a year and a half ago, his father became very ill and was hospitalized. It was very difficult to reach my husband then, so I hope nothing happens during this trip!
I think I would feel a little better if I had International calling on my phone, but I don’t. I might get a China Phone Card if he does this again so that I won’t feel so cut off from him. He was able to email me in the middle of the night while he was on a layover in Tokyo, but I would just feel more connected with an international calling card in hand. Since we no longer have a land line I would need a cell phone card which could save me up to 90% on an International cell phone calls!
I can sign up for long distance calling and receive up to 5 hours of free International calling. Sign up for Pingo, receive $8 in free calls, that’s a $25 pre-paid calling card for only $17! That’s a good deal, plus, there are no hidden fees, no other charges. Plus, there is a special blog discount! Provide Pingo with discount code “ppp3″ valid for $3 off Pingo.

I mentioned yesterday that holiday shopping at the mall is not something I want to do, in fact, I detest it. Fighting the crowds begins in the parking lot and continues through the shopping process and all the way to the check out. I just don’t like crowds and I hate wasting time standing in line. It makes me feel more like a grinch than anything else.
I used to enjoy going out shopping the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, though, it sort of got me in the holiday spirit. Now though, the stores open so early, some as early as 4 or 5 A.M., that the thought of going is just a turn off. I’d rather spend those hours sleeping in my nice warm bed! I had attempted to go Circuit City at 5 A.M. a few years back on Black Friday. I arrived a few minutes before the store was to open and by the time I found a place to park, trudged through the snowy slush in the dark to the door I found a HUGE line of people pushing their way through the door and into the overcrowded aisles. I had to struggle just to find my way to the aisle containing the one item I was looking for. When I finally got there it was only to discover the item was all ready sold out. I considered looking for some other items on the family’s wish list, but when I took a look at the enormous crowd in the store, I knew I’d much rather go back home, crawl back into my pajamas and have some coffee in the quiet of my own home. That’s exactly what I did!
I still like to view the Black Friday ads that come out in the newspaper usually on Thanksgiving Day, but I tend to not actually go to the store to buy anything. I realize these are very good deals, but I also realize that very few people actually get the offered deal as they are limited supply offers. Now though, to make it easier, I can actually purchase Black Friday items online! And, to make it even better, I can sign up with my email address to receive an email when the Black Friday ads are made available. I can actually see the ad before it comes out in the newspaper so I can plan a little farther in advance. This site also offers direct links to each advertised product so you can make a quick purchase without ever having to stand in line! Very cool, I love shopping in my jammies! This year, Black Friday is taking on a whole new look for me!
