DI Try-Outs

DI Try-Outs

We sent home information fliers and permission slips with the 6th graders yesterday and we had our first student turn one in today!  I’m hoping for a good turnout on Monday for the tryouts.  I just really have no idea how many kids will be interested.  Hopefully we can answer any questions and snag more students when we give our Destination Imagination presentation on Friday morning.  I’m very anxious about all this which is probably why I’m not sleeping!

Is Getting A Loan Too Easy?

When we purchased our new home back in April I was amazed at how fast we were able to get our loan and close escrow, it was 9 days from start to finish! Of course, I had called the lender about two weeks in advance and been pre-approved, but none of the paperwork had been done. We have very good credit which is what allowed the loan process to move so quickly but it still surprises me how fast it all went.

Not long after that is when it started being reported in the news how the banks and other lenders were having problems because so many people were defaulting on their home mortgages. Not surprising to hear that many times this was a result of banks not doing their research on their customers before approving loans.

Over the past few years it seems that banks and lenders were becoming more and more creative with their financing options and enticing people to take out personal loans as well, many times when they couldn’t afford that on top of their other debt.

I think people need to use more common sense when getting any type of loan and I realize this can be difficult when they feel they are in a financial crisis. These creative loans, sometimes interest only loans, can be very scary and have found people filing bankruptcy because they have no equity and can’t afford to make their payments. Secured loans typically offer a lower interest rate, but I believe most people should stick to the more traditional type of loans and definitely stay away from interest only.

Not a Great Day

Today is not progressing the way I had hoped when I got out of bed this morning.  Maybe that’s because I didn’t sleep well, again, last night.  I had plans of getting some things accomplished today, but I feel like I’m not getting anything done at all.  Well, I did do a few loads of laundry although the towels are still sitting in the dryer because I don’t feel like folding them. I got the vacuum out but didn’t vacuum so now it’s sitting staring at me. I did wash the dogs bed and crate, guess that should count for something.

One good thing about today is that I visited Electric Venom and that always seems to brighten my day. Nothing like telling someone to Bite Me to make a person feel better!

Step #19 in 101 Steps to Better Blogging

Step 19 is all about using plug-ins. I use wordpress and my site was set up by my sister, so I can’t say I know a whole lot about plug-ins, other than that they can help your site to accomplish tasks that you might otherwise have to do manually. They are a good thing. I do know that many of these are installed on my site and some I do know what they do. Akismet for example is a spam catcher, very important! Take a look at each and decide what works for you. Thanks Marcus another great blogging tip.

19. Akismet

20. Optimal Title

21. Ultimate Tag Warrior

22. Google Sitemap Generator

23. Show Top Commentators

25. Super Archive

26. WP-Cache.

27. WP-ContactForm

28. Popularity Contest

29. Adsense Deluxe

30. Sociable

In addition to all of these WP plug ins, big names in the world of internet are emerging and rising and multiplying in nanoseconds. Names such as Microsoft just anybody would know of but to reach them is the game. This is where test king has made it easy for us to qualify their demands. Test king prepares us for companies like Microsoft through tests like 70-270 and 70-271. Another popular test of Microsoft certification is70-293 Citrix training and certification is also carried out through test king in various tests like 1Y0-259. For qualifying Cisco, another giant in computer business, tests like 350-030 and 650-178 are well known. Test king also prepares for VCP-310.
