Online Discount Shopping

I do a lot of my shopping online, especially around the holidays. I also love to shop with coupons in hand. When I need an online coupon I head straight to www.webbyplanet.com to find all sorts of coupons for $ off or even free shipping offers from over 5,000 stores. They update their site daily so I know I’ll always find the most current coupons. They also provide information on rebates and current sales. When I find the coupon I want I simply click on it and the coupon is linked directly to the company where I want to do my shopping. No copying and pasting necessary! Occasionally they will also have printable coupons for in store shopping. This is definitely the easy way to save you money.

Destination Imagination

We held the first day of tryouts for the 6th grade today for Destination Imagination.  We had 16 kids show up and I think it went very well.  We put them into groups of 4 and had them do two different improv ideas, one with props that they had to create and one without props.  We then asked them questions about the group members they worked with and had them write their answers down for us to review later.  We actually finished about 15 minutes early so we were able to do a question and answer session that I think went really well.

Thursday will be our second and final day of tryouts.  We’ve selected 12 of the kids for call-back and we will have them in new groups and new improv.  Then we will have them each do an individual activity.  I am looking forward to getting down to the final team.  We did scratch one girl off the list and now I’m thinking I would like her to come back.  I’ll have to see what I can do to change that.  Overall I think it all went very well!

Mid-Life Dreams

As my husband was approaching his 50th birthday, strange things began to happen. I got a call from him one day and he informed me that he had purchased a new car. I of course became a bit miffed as this is something we’ve always done together and in fact, we had not even so much as talked about getting a new car! But, he had indeed, without my knowledge, purchased a new car, a Porsche. To say I was in shock would be putting it mildly.

I spent the next four years being ticked about it! It made it worse because he never wanted me to drive it. If anyone even walked past it he would tense up! A couple of times over those four years, my van would be in for service and so I would have to drive his car to work and he would just about have a heart attack! He worked from home so the car was usually parked in the garage all day.Well, eventually, I was able to convince him that having a car that only one of us could drive was just not a good thing for our family. Our daughter was getting bigger and was barely fitting into the back seat of his car so he finally agreed to get something different. Now he drives the van and I drive our car and everyone is happy. Well, I know he misses his Porsche, so today I found ArtMyWay.com where I am getting the above personalized art for him to keep. There were quite a few to choose from and I thought this was perfect for him. It quite inexpensive and it’s really simple to personalize too. I think he will really like it!
