Destination Imagination Team

posted in kids |

We did it, we chose our team for 6th grade.  We held the second day of tryouts yesterday and had 13 kids.  We had them do an individual activity that really showcased their individual imaginations and then had them do a group activity.  We also had them fill out a self assessment that gave us an idea of where their personal strengths were.  We were able to choose five kids right away and we had spots for seven.  It was really difficult.  There were four that we kept going back and forth on and finally decided on one who wrote a paragraph on how much she enjoys creating things and her artwork.  After that we just couldn’t decide, so we opted to go with a team of 6.

The team members were announced today at school.  I’m anxious for my daughter to get home so I can hear how the announcement was received.  We’re holding our first team meeting on Monday, I’m looking forward to it.
