Sewing

posted in sewing |

I realize I haven’t been sewing much in the last several months, but I really do enjoy it.  About a year ago I found a super simple pattern for a fabric bag and I’ve made quite a few of these.  Every one is made with different fabric, different pocket layouts, sometimes even different handle sizes.  Making these bags is what made me decide to purchase an embroidery sewing machine.  This bag is one of my favorites.  The flowers on the center pocket are all machine embroidered on my machine.

That’s really beautiful! Have you considered maybe doing a dozen or so bags up, then selling them via your blog or eBay? There are so many of us who don’t sew (and don’t have time to learn), but who’d love to have a hand-crafted bag. Hint. Hint. ;)

Hi Kate - Yes, I have considered making more, I just haven’t done it since I had to pack everything for our big move back in April. Lost my motivation. I have sold several of this style bag, I just don’t have any stock right now. It is a personal goal to do that though, I just need a fire lit under me to get going!

That is beautiful! I just bought another purse pattern today. It is of one of those bags the young girls and college aged girls are carrying. I don’t know what they are called. They have a long strap and the purse is a 7″ x 9″ rectangle.

Guess you’re just going to have to make one and take a picture so I can see what it looks like!
