Hannah Montana

Back in the 1980’s we lived in the Houston area. It was such a great place to live, we really enjoyed it there. The people are so friendly, and there is quite a bit to do in the area. It’s so near the beaches of Galveston and go north to the PGA golf course in The Woodlands. You name it, you can probably find it in Houston.

One thing I always will remember doing is going to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and seeing Vince Gill perform. That was when it was always held at the Houston Astrodome, which they’ve since torn down. It was a lot of fun walking around before the concert and seeing all the livestock, then watching a live rodeo followed by Vince singing his soulful music. It all had a state fair sort of quality about it and it was a lot of fun.

The Rodeo even planners are able to get amazing talent to perform. They don’t only book country singers and today, they’re are so many up and coming stars, including Hanah Montana. All of her concerts around the country were sold out within minutes of the tickets even going on sale. It’s such a huge arena, any star would be in awe to perform there including [tag]Miley Cyrus[/tag] herself. If we were living in Houston still, I think I’d check into buying [tag]Hannah Montana Houston Rodeo tickets[/tag] as soon as they go on sale. It’s like buying tickets to two shows for the price of one, a very unique experience.

More Sewing

Yesterday I posted a picture of a bag I had made and I thought I would share another one.  This particular bag I made for my sister to give as a gift to a friend of hers who was suffering from cancer.  The bag itself was somewhat of a challenge to make because of the large print on the fabric, all ladies suffering from cancer.  I wanted it to showcase these ladies on the bag and show their strength.  My sister did give this bag to her friend who loved it.  I’m so glad I had a part in bringing some pleasure to a wonderful woman before her disease took her away from us.  It makes my sewing so worth while.

Photo Do-Overs

The other day my daughter took a digital photo of me that I used online for a virtual makeover. It was absolutely the most disgusting photo! It was so bad that I got on the phone and made an appointment to get my hair done and I’ve been out shopping for make-up. It slays me that I put effort into getting ready every morning, washing, drying and styling my hair and putting on make-up and yet, when I saw that photo it made me wonder if that’s how I look to everyone else. What I wouldn’t have done to have been able to “do-over” that photo!

Even the virtual makeover I did didn’t help too much. It was very limiting. I would’ve like to have been able to do some photo enhancement before submitting the photo for a virtual makeover. Besides my hair, I would’ve liked to be able to do some complexion evening and teeth whitening. As it was, I was really only able to do my hairstyle in the makeover.

I think it would be great to airbrush some of our own digital photos to make them look more professional. We’re due for a new family photo so maybe I’ll be checking into some online software for this purpose.

Texas Weather

I can’t figure out if Fall is coming or going.  The past two days we’ve had highs in the 60’s, very Fallish.  Today, we’re back in the 70’s and this weekend we’ll be back up in the 80’s.  It is November isn’t it?

I was in a department store yesterday and I saw rack after rack of big, heavy winter coats, gloves and hats.  I had to wonder who is buying this stuff around here?  I have a feeling that if I want a new coat I can wait a while and I’ll be finding really good deals on all those coats and accessories I saw yesterday!

Clean Teeth

I was brushing my teeth this morning and I got to thinking about my teeth and their condition a few years ago. You see, I have a fear of the dentist. There was a time that I went for about ten years without seeing a dentist. Finally, because I wanted to make sure my daughter didn’t develop the same fear, I sought out a dentist that would accommodate me and be considerate of my fear. I did this because I wanted to visit the dentist first before taking my daughter, in other words, if he was good enough for me, I knew he’d be good enough for my daughter.

When I finally went to the dentist I was amazed at the good condition my teeth were actually in. Other than dealing with teeth that are sensitive to cold and having a build up of plaque, the dentist informed me that I had a healthy mouth. He did what he needed to do to remove the plaque and then I asked him what I could do about the sensitivity of my teeth. He recommended that I use a sensitive toothpaste designed to especially for sensitive teeth. There were a few on the market so I picked one and have been using it. It did help, but it really was just a way to mask the problem, not take care of it.

Recently, to my pleasant surprise, I received a sample of Biotene Sensitive Toothpaste in the mail. I began using it over the past week and found what a difference it has made. It doesn’t just mask the problem but it works on resolving it. I don’t understand how it does it but it does do it. If I’d had this toothpaste years ago I may not have the sensitivity issue today.
