While drinking my wine (I don’t have any tequila) I thought I better get dinner going. I did some grocery shopping this morning and wound up purchasing some pre-tenderized round steaks. So, I decided to make swiss steak. Very simple, just involved lots of chopping.
round steak
2 T flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
Coat meat in flour mixture and brown in large skillet, about 15 minutes.
Mix together: 1 can tomatoes (with liquid), 1/2 c. chopped onion, 1/4 c. chopped green pepper, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper
Pour mixture over browned meat. Heat to boiling, cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
I like to serve this with rice, but noodles work well too.

Personally, I’m a wine drinker. I recently even joined a wine club that will introduce me to some fantastic Texas wines. I’m certainly not an expert in wines, I just know that I enjoy them. When it comes to wines I know there are many varieties, they come from many different places and they are made from different types of grapes. The different grapes as well as the soils they are grown in gives each wine it’s own unique taste.
What I didn’t know until recently was that these same traits hold true for tequila. Did you know that tequila is made from the blue agave plant? I had no idea! What makes the different tequilas taste unique is the way the blue agave is harvested, the way the alcohol is fermented, the way it is distilled and the way it is aged. This probably explains the variety in prices as well. There are so many varieties of tequila to choose from. If I’m going to drink tequila, I’m going to check with The Tequila Guy to find one that is nice and smooth with a hint of vanilla taste to it.
Cheers!

I spent the afternoon observing six 6th grade girls as they develop their plot line and skit for Destination Imagination. Can I just tell you that these kids have wild and funny imaginations! They have so many ideas their story is just hilarious. I know it will all come together and be funny as well as entertaining. Their biggest challenge will be to get it all done in the eight minute time limit.
Once they have their skit under control and all their characters assigned they’ll start working on the set and costumes. They have some wild ideas and it will be fun to see what they end up with. My biggest challenge is making sure they’ve included all the required elements and stick to the rules. The rules I don’t think will be a problem, the challenge they chose though has so many overlapping requirements. It’s somewhat complicated, but if I keep reading it as they’re putting it together, it should all come out just fine.
Wish us luck!

I’ve been with the same insurance provider since I got my first car almost thirty years ago. Every now and then I think I should compare car insurance providers but it’s not my favorite thing to do. When we moved I did call another company and got a quote but it was higher than I’m all ready paying so I stuck with what I’ve got.
I like knowing that if something happens we will have good customer service. In my lifetime I’ve been involved in two auto accidents and both times I received excellent service. This would probably explain why I also have our home insurance with the same company. Plus, about five years ago we decided to get life insurance and, you guessed it, we went throught the same company. Our financial advisor even works for this company, hope we haven’t put too many eggs in one basket, but we feel confident in our choice.
So yes, every now and then I do call around to get quotes, but I tend to stick with what I’ve got.
