Puppy Update

Just in case you’re wondering, and even if you’re not, Plinko is behaving much better today!  She did manage to bring in a small piece of trash, but got bored with it pretty quickly so I was able to get it away from her.

I believe she completely wore herself out getting into trouble yesterday and being a little stinker.  Besides being trouble yesterday, she managed to get into something that was just down right smelly.  Every time she was in the house I thought she had pooped some place!  I finally realized it was actually her that was the source of that horrible smell.  My daughter was kind enough to give her a bath last night which I am very grateful for.

Today, she is spending most of the day sleeping!  My favorite thing for her to do.  She looks so sweet when she’s asleep, I just love looking at her.

Great Gifts

While I am still preparing for Thanksgiving, I’m also all ready making a list of everyone I need to purchase a gift for this Christmas. Of course there is my daughter and husband, but then I have to think of everyone outside of the family such as teachers, music instructors, etc. Those are the more difficult people to shop for because you don’t really know them, only that they work hard and are appreciated enough to deserve a nice gift.

Even my own mother-in-law is difficult to shop for, I never know what she really wants or needs. I’ve taken to purchasing her gourmet [tag]gift baskets[/tag] because I know she enjoys food. She particularly enjoys the wine and cheese baskets. For the teachers there are so many gift baskets that I could choose from. I’ve given everything from teas to bath soaps. I believe that if the baskets are filled with high quality goods, they’ll be not only appreciated, but used.

Back to my list, I’m checking it once, checking it twice, I don’t want to forget anyone.

North Carolina

My niece is graduating from Coast Guard Petty Officer school tomorrow!  I believe there were about 18 students when the school started and only 11 are graduating, a very tough course.  We’re all very proud of her.

My sister, brother-in-law and both grandmothers are there for the graduation.  I just spoke with my Mom, she says it’s pouring down rain in North Carolina, but they are enjoying their trip.  I look forward to hearing all about it when they get back.

As a bonus, my niece gets two weeks leave begining on Sunday, so she’ll be flying home to Indiana and spending Thanksgiving with her parents for a wonderful family celebration.   What a wonderful way to spend the holiday!

Holey Socks Batman!

I think it’s about time I go shopping for some basic items for my daughter. Every time I’ve seen her wearing sock in the last couple of weeks I’ve been able to see her toes and heals! I think new socks are long overdue.

She prefers the low sport socks, but her feet are small so it can be hard to find them to fit. I always remember this time of year shopping for holiday [tag]socks[/tag] and [tag]tights[/tag] to go with her holiday outfits. Now that she’s a little older she just wants everyday type socks and no tights. In fact, last year I had to buy her first pair of pantyhose to wear to a band concert. It felt so strange, she doesn’t seem old enough to wear pantyhose, but she didn’t want anything too thick, so pantyhose was the way to go.

Guess I best put socks on my shopping list. I’d hate to think she would take her shoes off someplace other than home and anyone besides me would see all those holes!

Thanksgiving Dinner

Have you bought all your groceries for Thanksgiving yet?  It’s only one week away!  Or are you having your dinner some place other than your own home?

I’m still not sure if we’re having dinner at our place or not, my husband has a tendency to not tell me things until the last minute.  I buy all the groceries anyway, just not the turkey.  I still need to get stuffing and yams, but I think I have everything else.  I don’t buy the turkey in advance because my freezer is narrow and can’t hold a turkey.  I buy it a couple of days ahead of time and put it in my fridge until I’m ready to cook it.

I’d say I’m about 75% ready, how about you?
