Just in case you’re wondering, and even if you’re not, Plinko is behaving much better today! She did manage to bring in a small piece of trash, but got bored with it pretty quickly so I was able to get it away from her.
I believe she completely wore herself out getting into trouble yesterday and being a little stinker. Besides being trouble yesterday, she managed to get into something that was just down right smelly. Every time she was in the house I thought she had pooped some place! I finally realized it was actually her that was the source of that horrible smell. My daughter was kind enough to give her a bath last night which I am very grateful for.
Today, she is spending most of the day sleeping! My favorite thing for her to do. She looks so sweet when she’s asleep, I just love looking at her.

While I am still preparing for Thanksgiving, I’m also all ready making a list of everyone I need to purchase a gift for this Christmas. Of course there is my daughter and husband, but then I have to think of everyone outside of the family such as teachers, music instructors, etc. Those are the more difficult people to shop for because you don’t really know them, only that they work hard and are appreciated enough to deserve a nice gift.
Even my own mother-in-law is difficult to shop for, I never know what she really wants or needs. I’ve taken to purchasing her gourmet gift baskets because I know she enjoys food. She particularly enjoys the wine and cheese baskets. For the teachers there are so many gift baskets that I could choose from. I’ve given everything from teas to bath soaps. I believe that if the baskets are filled with high quality goods, they’ll be not only appreciated, but used.
Back to my list, I’m checking it once, checking it twice, I don’t want to forget anyone.

My niece is graduating from Coast Guard Petty Officer school tomorrow! I believe there were about 18 students when the school started and only 11 are graduating, a very tough course. We’re all very proud of her.
My sister, brother-in-law and both grandmothers are there for the graduation. I just spoke with my Mom, she says it’s pouring down rain in North Carolina, but they are enjoying their trip. I look forward to hearing all about it when they get back.
As a bonus, my niece gets two weeks leave begining on Sunday, so she’ll be flying home to Indiana and spending Thanksgiving with her parents for a wonderful family celebration. What a wonderful way to spend the holiday!

I think it’s about time I go shopping for some basic items for my daughter. Every time I’ve seen her wearing sock in the last couple of weeks I’ve been able to see her toes and heals! I think new socks are long overdue.
She prefers the low sport socks, but her feet are small so it can be hard to find them to fit. I always remember this time of year shopping for holiday socks and tights to go with her holiday outfits. Now that she’s a little older she just wants everyday type socks and no tights. In fact, last year I had to buy her first pair of pantyhose to wear to a band concert. It felt so strange, she doesn’t seem old enough to wear pantyhose, but she didn’t want anything too thick, so pantyhose was the way to go.
Guess I best put socks on my shopping list. I’d hate to think she would take her shoes off someplace other than home and anyone besides me would see all those holes!

Have you bought all your groceries for Thanksgiving yet? It’s only one week away! Or are you having your dinner some place other than your own home?
I’m still not sure if we’re having dinner at our place or not, my husband has a tendency to not tell me things until the last minute. I buy all the groceries anyway, just not the turkey. I still need to get stuffing and yams, but I think I have everything else. I don’t buy the turkey in advance because my freezer is narrow and can’t hold a turkey. I buy it a couple of days ahead of time and put it in my fridge until I’m ready to cook it.
I’d say I’m about 75% ready, how about you?

Many years ago I spent a lot of time traveling through Europe with my parents. My dad was working overseas and so we would take a couple of vacations each year visiting all sorts of places across Europe. I remember that he always rented a car to get us from the airport to wherever we were staying. My dad always traveled with a European driver’s license which is required and can be used in any European country. The roads in Europe, for the most part, are excellent, although in some towns they may be a bit more narrow than what we’re used to here in the U.S. My dad’s driving was a little scary normally, but to think of him driving on the left side of the road in several countries, including the UK was a bit stressful.
Being so far from home, we always had hotel reservations wherever we planned to go. When we travelled to Spain we stayed in Madrid, I recall it rained a lot during that trip. I would like to go back and visit Barcelona on the Mediterranean Sea. I would also like to travel back through Germany staying in hotels in Berlin near the central business and entertainment district. That would keep us all entertained.
After visiting Spain and Germany, I’d head towards France. In particular I’d look for hotels in Paris and near the Eiffel Tower, a place I’ve always wanted to see at night, all lit up. From Paris I’d end my trip by visiting hotels in London and visiting all the tourist and historical places. I have artwork of Big Ben that I look at everyday, hanging on a wall in my house. It’s dated 1979, the last time I was in London. I would love to go back, the shopping was excellent!
