My Little Girl is Growing Up
I’ve been noticing some changes in my daughter recently. Of course she’s getting taller, but also getting thinner. She’s wearing her hair in different ways to school, no longer is it a ponytail every day. I’ve even flat ironed it for her a few times, what a difference! She’s even starting to get a shoe collection! Now, if you knew me and my sisters, you’d know that this is an inherited trait and we’re surprised at how long it has taken to appear in my daughter. She’s also developing in ways that tell me she’s not a little girl anymore if you get my drift.
My daughter is a pre-teen, and I know it won’t be long before she is wanting to wear make up. There have all ready been a few occasions when she has put on some eye shadow and some lip gloss. She has the most beautiful, soft skin, I hate to see her cover it up, but I also know it’s just something girls do. When the time comes, I want her to know the proper way to apply make up so that it looks clean and natural, not overdone.

I myself, don’t wear a lot of make up. I tend to wear a little cover-up followed by an almost translucent face powder and then a little blush. That’s it. If we’re going out some place special, I put on some eye shadow, otherwise, not. My eyes are very sensitive and tend to start itching if I have anything scented near them, so I have to be careful with that. Because I don’t wear much make up and never really have, I’m not sure I’m the best person to teach my daughter makeup tips but I will do my best to point her in the right direction.
I know her growing up is inevitable, but I sure wish she could stay my little girl forever.
