I’ve been doing quite a bit of shopping online in the last week and it drives me nuts when I get to the “checkout” and there is a box for coupon codes when I don’t have a code! I find myself hunting on the web for a code. In fact, I heard on the news just the other day that if there is a box for a coupon code, there is a high probability that a valid coupon code exists! The trick to this game is to find the code.
I’m always quite pleased with myself though when I successfully find a code and get that discount or free shipping offer. Sometimes I even find coupons I can print and use at the store, that’s like a bonus! I look at online shopping as a way to shop more conveniently, save gas money, and get better discounts. It’s a way to get a bigger bang for my buck.

Plinko is growing again! I was laying in bed reading and next thing I know she was up on my bed and decided to lay down at my feet. That’s the first time she’s ever jumped up on my bed, I didn’t know she was capable!
She layed at my feet until my daughter went to get her to put her in her crate. Then she jumped up and ran to lay against my back with her head on my pillow. I think she was hoping my daughter couldn’t see her, it was really very funny.
My daughter took some new pictures of the dog today that I will have to post. They’re loaded on my other computer though so it will have to wait. You’ll just have to come back to see!

I’m dealing with the stress of the holidays and trying to get some gift shopping done while taking a break from decorating. I found these great tiki guys at madgringo.com and I think I’ll get them for my husband as a gift. They’d look really great out on our pool deck and help remind both of us to slow down!

When I do finally get finished with all the holiday shopping and can find some time to relax, I think I’m going to start making plans for a nice relaxing vacation. My niece is moving to Florida today so I’m thinking that Florida would be an excellent choice to visit in March when my daughter has Spring Break. That would give us an entire week to just slow down and enjoy each other’s company. To help me keep a nice relaxing vacation at the forefront of my mind, I’m downloading this cool
vacation widget to help me keep a countdown. In case you’re interested, there is a secret behind the widget. If you click on the “go” button, there is a discount code for $$ off at madgringo.com. I’m planning to use my discount to buy the tiki guys!

Do you decorate your home for the holidays? We do and most of the decorating falls into my hands, not because I want to do it, but because I am the only one who will do it!
The decorations have been laying around the family room for a week now. I’m really tired of looking at all the bins and mess. One chair is covered in garland and ornaments, waiting to be hung. Unfortunately, I need help holding the ladder in order to hang the garland and there is usually no one but me around, so there it sits. If’ it’s not done by tomorrow I think I will simply put it back into a bin and be done with it!
I did put up my second small tree today. I collect the Barbie Celebration ornaments and so I finally bought a 4 ft. tree just for those ornaments. I buy the new one each year, it’s my treat to myself. I’m not sure why I started collecting them, but I didn’t start until the 2nd year. So, of course, I’m missing the first one. Oh well, maybe I’ll run across it at an antique store some day! I’ve been collecting for 13 years so this year I will buy my 14th ornament. My daughter also has 2 other Barbie ornaments that she hangs on that same tree. I put it in our dining room this year, in front of the window so it can be seen from the street.
Our big tree is in our family room which is on the back of the house. It is loaded with ornaments that we’ve collected over the years. We try to buy an ornament when ever we visit some place new. It makes it fun to unwrap the ornaments each year and remember the trips we’ve made.
So I hope to finish the decorating by tomorrow and get all the bins put back into the storage closet. Then maybe I can relax for the remainder of the holiday period.
