Insane Weather

Insane Weather

What is up with the weather?  Yesterday, in Dallas, it was 82 degrees!  Not only that, but it was humid too.  We even had to turn the air conditioner back on.  The day before we were running the heater.  When I picked my daughter up from school in the afternoon I drove the car with the top down, something I would never have been able to do past October living in the upper midwest.  This is December isn’t it?

Most of my friends, online and IRL, are shoveling snow right now.  I’m trying to figure out out to cool down, it’s still so muggy out this morning and it’s almost 70 now.  I know we are supposed to have a front come through Sunday afternoon that will bring much cooler temperatures, but for now I guess I just have to sweat it.

This insane weather is really going to drive me nuts!

I hate really cold weather so I’m glad that it’s been warm the past few days. I prefer it that way. Yesterday morning (Friday) when I woke up, it hadn’t rained at all in our neighborhood but it had rained everywhere else. Crazy. I would love to live in Florida where it’s 70 every day.

Sabrina - We lived in Chicago up until April of this year, so we’re used to having seasons. Right now here in the Dallas area, we still have trees that still have green leaves! I don’t really want to shovel snow, but I’d like it at least to not feel so warm and humid in at Christmas if you know what I mean. :-D

How ironic - for a short three year stint my family moved to Chicago. While the snow was fun for a while - we quickly grew tired of it and became homesick. I must admit I had a bad taste in my mouth because I was so ridiculed over my accent.

I will tell you though I’ve heard other people from further North think it’s hilarious when things start closing because of ice down here. You’ll see what I mean in January. :D

Sbrina - I know the DFW airport closes frequently due to weather, we experienced that several times when we were flying back and forth to Chicago to do househunting. We did laugh because the schools here had a bad weather day to make up. In the seven years we lived up north, we never had a snow day!

Stacy is enjoying 70 degree weather just about every day. She is coming home, to Indiana, next Saturday. We are in the midst of an ice storm today.
