A Sewing Day

posted in sewing |

My mom and sister arrived on Friday afternoon. Why does time fly so quickly when we’re enjoying ourselves so much?

Yesterday the three of us went to a really nice [tag]quilting[/tag] store and we all bought fabric, fat quarters and patterns. I don’t even quilt! I picked up a couple of very simple purse patterns that use “charms”, pre-cut squares. The pattern state clearly that it is the “easiest purse pattern”, so it better not be pulling my leg! I can’t wait to start [tag]sewing[/tag] it together.

Today we will be making a trip to the fabric store to buy zippers, thread, etc. I’m hoping we won’t run around too much because it would be great to spend some time working on our little projects together. I think they will be leaving tomorrow, but I’m hoping they will stay at least one more day. I’ve really missed seeing them and we do have so much fun when we’re together. I only wish my other sister Karen could be here with us.

Aw! I wish I was there too. You are right to beware of those supposedly easy patterns. LOL Once I figure out the directions they are a piece of cake!

Well, Grace got some fabric cut today, but by the time we got home from going to Joann’s we’re all too tired to do anything.
