Boxing Excitement

There are going to be some very excited boxing fans out there, guaranteed!  It was announced that there is going to be a rematch between Manny “PacMan” Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez II, scheduled for March 15, 2008 in [tag]Las Vegas[/tag], 4 years after their last meeting.  This is being touted as the biggest fight available for either man with the retirement of both Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera.

[tag]Pacquiao[/tag] and [tag]Marquez[/tag] are both in their prime, so this promises to be a great rematch. These two boxers last met in 2004 where Pacquiao knocked Marquez down three separate times in the first round. Marquez fought back but their bout was called in a split draw. Many have debated this decision and are looking forward to seeing them meet again.

Pacquiao’s career record stands at 45 wins, 3 losses, 2 draws and 35 knockouts. Marquez has a very similar record at 48 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw and 35 knockouts. These two men couldn’t be more closely matched.

While this phenomenal fight will be televised on HBO, wouldn’t it be even more awesome to see it in person? Paquiao vs Marquez tickets are available. The bout will be held at [tag]Mandalay Bay[/tag] in Las Vegas, that alone is worth the trip!
