Quilted Bag

My mom and sister were here for a few days and while they were here we went and visited a very nice quilt store.  I always find something I want to create when I’m in a nice fabric shop and this time was no different.  I found a pattern for a “very easy bag” and bought the fabric to go with it. 

The bag itself was very easy to make, once I figured out what the heck the pattern instructions were trying to tell me to do.  The instructions were some of the worst I’ve ever come across, but thankfully my mom was here and helped me figure it out.  Now that I’ve made one, I know exactly what to do and I plan to re-write the instructions so they are so much more simplified. 

For the front of the bag I used fabric charms.  I can do the same thing on the back side if I choose to on the next one I make.  The front and back are machine quilted.  The pattern did not call for any pockets, so I will be adding that to future bags.  I’m also going to be adding some craft fleece into the handles to give them some padding.
