Traveler’s Logbook

Tomorrow I will have three different family members flying from one place to another, all on different airplanes, with different starting points and different destinations. My sister is leaving Arizona and flying home to Kentucky while my niece is leaving her brand new home in Florida to spend the holidays with her parents in Indiana. Travelling the farthest will be my husband who is departing Budapest, Hungary to fly home to Dallas.

My husband has been travelling abroad quite a bit lately and I’m thinking that he really might enjoy this Globetrotter's LogBook® to keep a record of all of his travels. I realize he is busy most of the time with business meetings, but occasionally he gets the opportunity to see something of the local. Last night he called to tell me his hotel room overlooked the Danube River and that all of Budapest was beautifully decorated for the holidays. He described it in great detail and thought it looked just like a Christmas card. I could envision it just based on his wonderful description.

The logbook is inexpensive and the company will even gift wrap it and write a handwritten message to go with it. For all the travelers out there, this would be a great gift.

Four Foods on Friday #8

It’s that time of the week, time for the Four Foods on Friday meme. Four easy questions, all related to one of my favorite things, food!

#1. Tuna fish. Water or oil? What do you add when making yours? I prefer tuna in water. If I’m making a sandwich I enjoy it with mayo, finely chopped onion and celery on toasted bread. For a casserole I have a recipe that includes cream of mushroom soup and some cream cheese. This is the only tuna casserole I can get my daughter to eat.

#2. Stuffing. What else have you done with a box of stuffing besides stuff meat (turkey, pork, chicken, etc)? I don’t do much with stuffing, although I just recently used it as a substitute for bread crumbs when I made a topping (mixed with melted butter) for my tuna casserole and I really liked it.

#3. Orange juice. Pulp, some pulp, no pulp, fresh squeezed. How do you like yours? I really love fresh squeezed O.J., but if I buy cartons of juice I like pretty pulpy. My daughter prefers no pulp, so I usually get one of each.

#4. Fast food restaurants. Do you have a favorite one and why? I don’t have a favorite, we frequent many for variety. We really enjoy Sonic, Wendy’s and Arby’s. I used to enjoy KFC, but the one we have by us here in Texas is bad, their food tastes like they haven’t changed the oil in a very long time. YUCK!
