I can’t get over how much sewing I’ve been able to get done this week! I got started on Monday and I managed to finish one quilted bag and two Advent calenders. Yesterday, I finished the second calender and then made the first of six “zipper” bags that I’m making as gifts for the girls on my Destination Imagination Team. I’ll get a picture up of it in a bit. For now, here is the second calender. The close up of the pocket is to show the top stitching I did with the metallic thread.

Second comment-are you leading a D.I. team? My son Ryan did D.I. when he was in the third grade! They had a choose a famous architect and a building he designed, and do their presentation on it. They didn’t do very well at the competition because they were so young, but I was so proud of how hard Ryan worked. I think it’s a great program.

Elizabeth, thank you! And yes, I am a team manager for my daughter’s DI team this year. She did it last year when we lived in Illinois and had so much fun she wanted to continue. Her new school didn’t have DI, so I volunteered. It’s been quite a challenge, but the team is having fun, they are 6th graders. We also have a 3rd grade team, they are quite a bit more of a challenge just to keep them on task. It will be interesting to see how they all do at tournament in March.

Thanks Ann! I was out of sewing mode after we moved and so it’s been about 8 months since I’ve done anything. But now I seem to be back in the swing of things and really do enjoy it.
