I’m sitting here doing some serious thinking about myself. When I was working full time I was up and around and moving. Now that I stay home I tend to do much more sitting, and sitting, and sitting. The problem with that is twofold. First, the most obvious thing is that I’ve gained about 6 pounds, not something I’m happy about. Second, I don’t feel as good. My legs tend to be sore a lot and lately my back is achy. So, I’m making myself a new goal and I’m writing (or in this case, typing) it now so I will be more likely to commit to it.
To work on both the weight gain and the achiness, I plan to get back to [tag]exercising[/tag]. When we moved here back in April I had taken to walking around the sub-division in the mornings. I can get in about 2 miles just going in a great big loop. It sort of went out the window though once it got really hot in the summer. Then, when school started in the fall I began taking my daughter to school in the mornings. I have a thing about leaving the house looking halfway decent, so I get up early, shower and am dressed with makeup on before leaving the house. Well, I’m just going to have to get over it.
I’ve decided that starting tomorrow morning, I am going to get up at the usual time of 6:30, but instead of heading to the shower, I’m heading upstairs to my treadmill. Yes, that’s right, I have a [tag]treadmill[/tag] set up that I haven’t used since we moved here. Really no excuse since it’s set up in front of our bigscreen t.v.! Following my morning workout I will make my daughter’s lunch, take her to school, come home and get in the shower.
This change will mean that I will get started on my errands and household duties later in the morning, but I think I will feel not only healthier, but better about myself. Wish me luck!

My laptop is about 2 years old and my desktop I inherited from my Dad, I think it’s about 3 years old or so. I find myself always looking at the ads checking out new technology. You know the saying, as soon as you buy your computer, it’s outdated. There are so many choices to think about when shopping for technology, it’s always so difficult to decide.
A while back I was working on a presentation for the elementary school and I needed Powerpoint. I could view those presentations on both of my computers, but I couldn’t create anything. Thankfully, my husband owns a copy of [tag]Microsoft Office[/tag] which contains the Powerpoint program and was able to install it on my laptop. If my husband hadn’t all ready owned a copy, or if I’d opted to go with [tag]Office 2007[/tag], I would have checked out www.[tag]CostCaptain[/tag].com for a deal on [tag]Microsoft[/tag] products. They offer discounts to all educators too, including homeschools.
I’m not sure when I’ll be upgrading, but I will be looking at all the options when I do.

I received the most beautiful gift in the mail today, all the way from Singapore! I opened the plain brown envelope that my husband brought in from the mailbox and was thrilled to discover this beautiful Christmas table runner, handcrafted by Fatiah at [tag]Sew My Name[/tag] and can’t thank her enough for this wonderful gift. I hope my readers will pop over to her site and let her know how pretty her sewing is. She has gone through some difficult times with her site recently, she’s been hacked several times and has lost some of her photos and posts due to server issues. But, she has not given up and has not lost her gift for [tag]sewing[/tag] and [tag]quilting[/tag].
Thank you Fatiah!
If you’d like instructions for this pattern, Fatiah has graciously posted them at Free patterns.
