This was a trying day. This morning I took our puppy Plinko to the vet to have her spayed. I realize this is a very common and necessary procedure, but when it’s just a little puppy it’s hard to leave them for something as major as surgery, no matter what the reason. But I did it.
My daughter & I picked Plinko up about 5:30 this afternoon and that little dog looks so miserable it’s breaking my heart! I know she is completely drugged up and we gave her another dose of her pain medication about an hour ago, but she looks so sad! She’s such a people dog and loves to snuggle up with us. She’s feeling so miserable though she just keeps going back to her crate and crawling in to her bed. We’ve managed to get her outside twice since bringing her home so she could go potty, but that’s it.
I know that rest is really the best thing, so we just keep comforting her and making sure she’s comfortable. That’s the only thing we can do right now. I have enough pain meds to give her for the next 5 days and then her stitches will come out next week. I will certainly be glad when she gets back to feeling like her spunky self. Right now I’m having all sorts of guilty feelings, even though I know it’s something that had to be done. It’s just that how do I tell those soft little brown eyes that it was for her own good, in a way that she can understand?

I made a goal for myself that in 2008 I would work very hard on increasing traffic to my blogs. There are numerous ways to do this, and I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I know all there is to know. I’m a very new blogger, learning my way through the blogosphere, but one thing I am doing is visiting many other sites, reading, leaving comments where appropriate and hoping that when and if those bloggers come visit my site, I will have written something that they will not only be interested in reading, but will entice them to come back as repeat visitors.
Something I definitely do NOT want to do is annoy any of my readers. We all know what it’s like to surf the web and get those annoying pop-ups. If they weren’t annoying, why would we all go to such great lengths to use [tag]pop-up blockers[/tag]? I have been surprised as I have been surfing through blogs over the last few days that I have even run across a few personal blogs that have had pop ups on them. Now, I realize that many of us want to monetize our sites, but [tag]monetize[/tag] at the expense of our readers? That is not something I want to do.
I realize it is every bloggers right to choose if and how they will earn money on their blog. I have to say though, when I run across a blog that has a pop up, the chances of my revisiting that blog are minimized. [tag]Pay Per Play Ads[/tag] seem to be different. These are strictly 5 second audio ads, nothing visual. This could be a win for both the blog publisher and the blog visitor. Nothing has to be clicked on for the publisher to earn money and the visitor isn’t bombarded with visual ads. Something I will have to think about.
How would you feel about visiting a site with audio only ads? Leave me a comment, I’d really like to hear from you.

I ran across Tackle it Tuesday this morning at 5minutesformom.com and decided it was just what I needed to give me a kick and get me going on a task I’ve really been putting off. What task? Balancing the check book! I have both my November and December statements and have had them laying here for quite some time. Everyday I think I’ll get around to it, but I seem to put it off again and again. So, I decided that if I post about it, maybe that will give me the incentive I need to get it done. I don’t have pictures since it is just bank statements, we all know what those look like.
If you’d like to participate, you can take before and after pictures of your task at hand. Tackle it Tuesday doesn’t have to be about housework, it can be any task (like balancing a check book) that you really need to get done and just need a little push to accomplish it.
