I wrote a post last week regarding the World Wildlife Fund and my daughter’s contribution to their cause. She is a great lover of all things turtle and used ALL of the money she received at Christmas to donate to this great cause and help the ecosystem the turtles live in. I am very proud of her to say the least.
This morning, I was very pleasantly surprised (although I was asked for permission to reprint) the post. I feel like it is such an important issue and obviously Mickie does as well. I hope we can all learn from what my daughter has done, she is my hero. We live in an ever changing world and it is up to us to protect it.

Gizmos, gadgets and life, battery life that is.
Do you ever think about how many things we use in our every day lives that run on batteries? Even items that have a power cord still have batteries installed. For example, my laptop. Eight percent of the time my laptop is in use while plugged in to an electrical outlet. However, whenever I want to take it to another room with me, I unplug and go. I like to know that my laptop’s battery life will last long enough for me to do what ever it is I want to do without having to run back and get it plugged in when the laptop battery runs out of juice.
My first laptop that I owned worked very well, until eventually, the battery wouldn’t hold a charge. That sort of deems a laptop as almost useless. If your computer is under warranty you can usually get another battery. If it’s not under warranty then you need to know where to shop for batteries. If my current laptop has the same problem, I’ll be sure to head over to www.allbatts.com to get a new battery. I’ve bookmarked them so I am prepared when I do need them.
