Blogger Craft Club

posted in sewing |

I’m very excited and have been looking forward to today, the first day of the new Blogger Craft Club open to any crafter. I have two projects that I am ready to begin and so I took pictures this morning of my supplies for each one.

The first one is a Jelly Bag. It will be made from strips of fabric that are in the jelly roll you see in the picture. The brown fabric will be used as the lining. I am actually going to a class for this tomorrow morning at the local quilt shop and will make the bag there. I’m a bit nervous because this is the first class I’ve done like this. I need to pack up my sewing machine and supplies so I’ll be ready. That’s my task for today.

This next picture is of the fabric I purchase on Sunday off the Christmas clearance rack. I have been wanting to make a black and white bag and so I was excited when I ran across this fabric. Although it is a poinsettia design, it really doesn’t appear to be Christmas fabric so am anxious to see how this one turns out.

The colors that you’ve chosen for both projects are beautiful. I like the black and white poinsetta print and never would have took it for a Christmas pattern.

I can’t wait to see your finished project.

I will post a Mr. Linky each week for those who want to post and update to their projects.

    Thank you for participating Lynne

Oooo, Lynne . . .I’m intrigued by the ‘jelly roll’ fabric. Have I really been out of the sewing loop so long? I honestly have not ever heard of it, nor your project type. Please educate me! :)

Love the choice of fabric for both projects! I had never ever heard of a jelly roll before, can you tell I am not a quilter ((blush))? I really can’t wait to see the endresult of the first project especially, I want to learn how to quilt but right now the sewinglessons take up all my spare-energy.

Will be back next week to see the progress :-)

    Have a blessed week!

Don’t worry, I hadn’t heard of a jelly roll either until recently! I’m not the quilter, but my mom is and when she visits, I take her to the quilt shop. That’s where I discovered this bag and the “jelly roll”. I’m learning, that’s for sure! :-D

Chayil - The jelly roll was new to me too! I’m not a quilter, but when I take my mom to the quilt shop, I tend to find really neat crafting projects, not to mention amazing fabrics.

Thanks Joyce! I was unsure about the colors, but once I began sewing the strips together I really liked it. I have one handle to finish and attach and the decorative buttons to put on and it will be done. Hopefully, I’ll have it finished in time for Monday’s Blogger Craft Club!
