Four Foods on Friday

Yay! It’s Friday and time for my favorite meme, Four Foods on Friday by Valmg. If you’d like to participate, create a post answering these four questions and then head on over to Val’s blog and leave her a comment letting her know you’re taking part. She’d appreciate it!

This weeks questions and my answers are:

#1. What is your favorite kind of cheese for snacking? I really enjoy snacking on mild or medium cheddar. I can eat it by itself or on crackers.

#2. What is your favorite kind of jelly? Yumm, I love strawberry jam and jelly. My absolute favorite was the jam my grandmother would make. Sometimes she also had raspberry which was just as delicious.

#3. Yogurt. Regular or custard style? I don’t eat too much yogurt, but when I do, I prefer regular. Once in awhile I like a Yoplait whipped yogurt. I probably should eat more for the calcium.

#4. Share a recipe for a stew or soup. One of my favorites is a tortellini soup that my sister Karen actually gave me the recipe for a few years ago.

1 large container chicken broth
1 can diced tomatoes
1 tsp. basil
1 c. chopped cabbage

Heat above ingredients to boiling and simmer for 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer an additional 10 minutes until tortellini is cooked.

1 large zucchini, sliced
1 package sausage links, cooked and sliced
1 package frozen tortellini

Serve in bowls and top with Parmesan cheese.

    Hi Lynn:
Thanks for stopping by my blog AND for your kind comments on both my post and at the PPP forum. I just left you a reply on my post over there regarding the “older than most bloggers.” It seems as thought most bloggers are in the 20-30 age bracket. At least that’s what I’ve been reading. But I’ve only been reading blogs for 3 months now and since I work a FT job during the day I can only read at night.

I thoroughly enjoy this blogging thing :), I am so addicted and I’m neglecting so many things at home. Also, I’m trying to write reviews for PPP, Smorty and others.
    Thanks again!
    Ellen

Ellen - Welcome to the blogging world! I started this, my first blog, last July and am still muddling my way. I am completely addicted though and have to force myself to get other things done around the house! I’m 40+, edging closer to the big 5-0 everyday. My sister, who got me into blogging, is on the other side of 50. Guess we can still learn new things! Anyway, have fun and keep posting! :-D

Hey Val- I love the Four Foods on Friday! I also love tortellini and recently discovered the refrigerated kind. I use it in a couple of dishes as well as the refrigerated ravioli. :-D
