Oh my goodness, I feel like I’ve been so busy sewing over the last few days that I’m having trouble deciding what to post for the The Blogger Craft Club post this week. I posted on Friday about the quilt block I’m making, so today, I think I’ll show the beginnings of my second jelly bag. This picture is of the front and back, which are identical, and created from sewing jelly roll strips together.

Last night I sewed the back to the front and created the bottom. I don’t have a picture yet, so will post that next week. By then, who knows, maybe it will be done!

I was out running a few errands this morning and ran in to the grocery store to pick up a few necessities. While I was in there I decided to check out the Valentine’s cards, I need to get one for my daughter. I don’t really know why, but shopping for cards and gifts at the grocery store just never seems right to me. While I did end up purchasing a birthday card for my sister, I decided to go else where in my search for Cool Valentine’s Day Gifts for both my daughter and my husband.
The fact that I spend so much time on my computer, it only makes sense that I do some shopping online too. I’m going to check out Fragrancepower.com for body lotions for my daughter. I might also look for candles to go around our giant bathtub, I might even find some aromatherapy bath salts for a nice relaxing soak.
What are your plans for Valentine’s Day?

The other day I made the mistake of using the wrong kind of pencil to trace my applique design. I didn’t realize there was a problem until I set the hot iron down on top of the tracing and fusible interfacing and all of the soft black markings transferred to the nice hot iron. There the markings stayed and no matter how much rubbing I did on the iron with dry paper or fabric, the markings would not come off.
So, how to clean an iron. First, let the iron cool completely. Mix 2 tablespoons baking soda with a small amount of water, just enough to form a paste. Using a soft cloth, rub the paste onto the cooled iron plate. Follow this by rubbing with a clean damp cloth making sure to remove all of the paste.
If the steam holes also need cleaned, a clean pipe cleaner works well.
That’s it, you now have a nice clean iron.
