Fabric Storage Bins

posted in sewing |

I was reading one of my favorite blogs, Laura Williams Musings and I found a terrific link to a pattern for making hand made fabric storage bins, I can’t wait to make several of these!

I was at the fabric store yesterday and they were having a huge sale and so I purchased several of the supplies I need to make these. These are exactly what I need to help organize my sewing room and I like the fact that I can make these using different fabrics so they can fit in any room decor in our house. I’ve very excited about finding this pattern. Thanks Laura!

    Hi Lynn:
I’ve almost figured out Entrecard. I think I’ve just made it harder than what it really is. Based on all the many people who use it, it probably isn’t that difficult. Installing the widget/card on my blog was simple however it takes a while for it to update because last night I updated the design on my card and it took awhile for it to change. Also I have a tendency to get distracted with other people’s blogs as I am dropping my cards and before I know it I have blown a lot of time when I was planning to drop 25in an hour. So, that is a problem for me.

If you want me to help you with what I know, I will me more than happy too. Kim, the lady that I mentioned in my post, has been so helpful.

Thanks Ellen! I have to do new things like that when my husband isn’t staring over my shoulder making me feel guilty for being on the computer! I’ve got Entrecard on my to-do list though! :-D

I spend so much time reading other blogs, I know exactly what you mean! Before I know it, my day is gone and I haven’t done a stitch of sewing. My husband thinks I want to watch t.v. on my computer, who has time for that?! :-D

The fabric storage bags look so functional and pretty. They’re definitely nicer than the cardboard boxes I have in my computer room. :)

I keep calling them “bags” instead of “bins” as well Rose! I think it’s because I’m making so many bags lately! I’m hoping to make several of these bins though to put on shelves to contain all of my daughter’s little “stuff”!

Can’t wait to see your storage bins. It will definitely look nice if using cheerful prints. Entrecard? haven’t figured out what are those. At this rate thing goes we will definitely be occupied learning and doing new things until old age.

Laura - I’m hoping to do these fabric bins pretty soon, my daughter’s toys need a storage system badly and I think these would be perfect. Of course, I’ve only got a gazillion other projects in line ahead of them! :-D
