Ugh! Aging skin

Besides the fact that I don’t like birthdays anymore, I just simply don’t like getting older. The reason I don’t like getting older is all the changes that seem to be going on in my body, most recently, my skin. Please, I’m in my 40’s and for the first time in my life, I’m experiencing acne! WTH?!

I never had acne as a teenager. That’s not to say I haven’t had the occasional zit or two, but I’m telling you, over the last few weeks, I feel like I’m having a sever break out on my forehead, chin and the back of my neck. I wash my face everyday, I shower every morning. I take great care in what facial products I use, using high end, no preservative make up and lotions. I’m also sensitive to fragrance, so I make sure my facial products have no scent. I’m thinking that age isn’t the only contributing factor here, but the change from living in the very dry Midwest to living in the more humid south.

I was doing some research on skin care looking for the best product for my skin and I stumbled across an online radio show hosted by Celeste Hilling. It’s a weekly, free radio show titled “Skin Health Today” and seems to be full of good, useful information. The shows listeners are allowed to interact and give their own input. I found it very interesting that one of their topics was “Acne: Not just for teens anymore”! Now that’s a topic I can certainly relate to.

I can relate to what you’re saying about aging and changes in the skin, though my skin tends to get dry and rashy (living in the frozen tundra doesn’t help!). I looked up acne in my “Quick Reference Guide for Using Essential Oils” and it says that acne can often be caused by a hormonal imbalance or stress. Some personal care products that may help include the ART skin care system and the essential beauty serum - acne-prone skin blend. Thanks Rose! :-D I think stress may have a lot to do with the acne. Perhaps if I spent less time on my computer and more time getting things done around the house my face would stop breaking out! Or, maybe I should just go do some sewing…
