Are You an Emotional Eater?

Are You an Emotional Eater?

When I’m stressed, I eat. Do you?

This week has been so exhausting and stressful, just getting ready for our Destination Imagination tournament today. I found myself eating things that I normally wouldn’t eat.

Due to my daughter’s birthday celebration last weekend, we had junk food in the house that normally isn’t here: Cheetos, potato chips, brownies, cake, etc. I found myself getting these things out of the pantry, especially in the evenings when I was so tired and yet, still had so much to get done. It was my way of dealing with the stress.

I’ve been doing really well since January with my eating habits, so this week, I’m feeling very disappointed in myself. I found a website, www.ShrinkYourself.com that offers an Emotional Eating Center where I found free articles and tips for dealing with my emotional eating. They even have a mobile “Emotional Eating Intervention” program I can use on my cell phone.

They offer a free interactive personalized emotional eating session that I’m checking out. I know that the stress of Destination Imagination will pass, but I don’t like that I want to eat when I get stressed. It’s just not healthy. I’d like to learn how to overcome being an emotional eater.

Destination Imagination

Our regional tournament took place today, I’m exhausted!  My team did very well, although they did have a mishap during their performance they may knock them out of medal contention.

We are home for a little while to get some dinner and have some down time.  We head back in about half an hour for the awards ceremony.  It’s really difficult to say how our team did.  We were only able to see 2 of the other teams presentations, one was excellent, the other, not quite.

When I do get home tonight, I’m going to bed.  The exhilaration and stress of this week have completely worn me out.  Tomorrow?  I clean up my sewing room!  :-D
