Laurie - Glad things weren't as crazy in Frisco with all this weather. I'm so happy to not be hearing the wind today. We got a lot of yard work done over the weekend, but it was so windy, there were some things we just couldn't do. Hope your brother's home is okay and they can get those trees removed.

Hi Lynne- We made it through okay in Frisco, but I saw trees, fences and powerlines down as I drove through McKinney and Allen on the way to work in Plano. My brother wasn't so lucky in Hurst though, and I finally posted pictures of their damage. Glad you guys are okay!

Thanks Val! After the weather we've had this week, I'm missing my snow plow. I'd rather spend 30 minutes clearing my driveway of snow than lay awake all night listening to 80 mile an hour winds and wondering what damage they were doing.

Hi Ellen - We got hit with the high winds and rain. Our backyard is currently an extension of our swimming pool, it's under water. My dog loves it, she's covered in mud! I am so glad to see the sun and the wind is not nearly as bad as it was. What crazy weather, it's making me miss the calm winters of Chicago!

Monique - I had no idea that I lived just down the road from you! We live on the Allen/Parker line. Please don't tell me you work at the Allen P.O.?!
The storms over the last two days have managed to add to my exhaustion, I'm sure glad to see the sun today!

Lynne:
I was wondering if you'll got hit hard with the bad weather. I slept through it but my part of town didn't get a thing. Yippppeeee! However, this morning I went to the S Target in Plano off of the tollway and they had all doors open with no power @ 8 am. I stayed and did my work in the store and it was so nice because it was sooooo quiet. That part of town got hit very hard. Carrolton, which is very close to that Target, got hammered. Also, Allen got hit really bad. The news is saying that there were tornadoes. At the moment as I type this ( 4:30pm) the wind is blowing so hard in my area. It reminds me of last night. Yikes!!! Maybe the weather has decided to come back and smack us after all!!

Jennifer - The sun has finally come out here in North Texas and hopefully we'll have a few days of sunshine to dry out. The ground is completely saturated, so drying would be a good thing!

Nothing quite as fun as being awakened at 3 am by crazy winds and sirens.

I live in McKinney and that storm had me up until after 5 am, and I had to leave for work at 8. I am not looking forward to this rainy season if this is any indication of how its going to be.

Wow. I read about that storm. We get some pretty wild ones here sometimes too, but they're mostly just torrential rain and high winds, rarely thunder. I actually miss thunder, but don't envy your area the damages from this storm at all.
