Latest Sewing Project

posted in sewing |

I created this tote bag last week, before I had to take my sewing break to clean my house and do yard work! I kept meaning to show it here, but kept forgetting. This is by far, my favorite tote bag. I love the fabric colors. It’s an oversized bag with lots of interior pockets and 2 exterior pockets. This would be great for toting projects around or for someone who enjoys a large purse.

I am selling this bag for $35 plus shipping.

What a lovely tote bag. I cannot live without totes, they are just so handy for carrying everything. Just a suggestion, if you have a small zipped compartment inside to store a small purse, that would be great :)

A zippered pocket inside? That’s an excellent idea! I’ll have to try that out when I make another one. Thanks for the suggestion. :-D

Fatiah – Yes, the strips and handles for this bag came from a jelly roll. I also used a yard of fabric for the lining. I really would like to get another one of these jelly rolls to make a quilt. I just really like these fabrics and colors.

That is so pretty, Lynne. What is the name of that jellyroll? I had my sewing class today. I had to leave my machine so they can fix the reverse feature. I hope I retain all I learned for when I get my machine back.

Karen – That jelly roll was “summers basket of flowers” by Moda. Are you borrowing mom’s machine while your’s is in the shop?

Hmmm, I will have to spend lots of time looking over the site to find something! I was wondering, I hope this isn’t too cheeky), it is my daughters first birthday in May, could you perhaps make something for her? We were looking for something special to buy her rather than toys and we are really stuck for ideas at the moment! Let me know what you think!

I love the bag, it would make a great change bag with a difference! :D

Sarah – I can ship to the UK for $11 (U.S.) for a package under 4 Lbs. or $37 for over 4 Lbs.
Other than fleece blankets, I haven’t made anything recently for a child. I do have a cute pattern for fabric blocks that I’d be will to try if you’re interested in something like that. I will try to make one or two so I can take a picture to show you what I’m talking about.
