Kim - I agree, I wouldn't want to pay a flat fee either. I support the clubs and activities that my daughter is involved with.

Grace - I think I've seen other stores that do something similar. It's nice to know that regular shopping allows money to go back into the community/schools.

Jennifer - The candy bars (or anything chocolate) was the one thing I didn't mind selling, they seem to sell themselves!

Mike - I have a hard time telling kids no as well. My daughter has had her full share of fund raising for school and clubs. Unfortunately, she's got 6 more years of school before I think I'll see an end to it.

We just went door to door for my daughter's fiddle-a-thon. And although this is something I don't enjoy doing. It was for something that she was involved in so I didn't mind too much. I would not like paying a flat fee for all programs that the school is involved in as my kids don't belong to all programs. I like having the choice to participate or not.

Kim's last blog post..Musical Festival– Huge Success!

Boy, am I glad we're done with that. Our kids always had the candy bars and the magazine subscriptions. At least the candy bars were familiar brands, so their friends always bought from them. Just the same, I used to cringe everytime the term "fundraiser" came up.

Sounds like an interesting program. I've had several kids come to my door this year selling magazines for their schools, etc. I have such a hard time telling them no. Aaaaaahhh!
