A. - I think raisins would taste good in this recipe. :-D

Ellen - I know what you mean. It has to be a really good bread pudding or I don't want it! If it's really good, then I can't get enough of it.

One of my very favorite all time foods is bread pudding. Oh my gosh...when I've eaten good bread pudding, I always feel as though I've died and gone to heaven. Of course when I feel that way, it's because the bread pudding had rum or some kind of alcohol in the liquid poured over it. Nonetheless, this recipe looks like a winner!!!!I'll have to try it!

Yes, that's (almost) what we call bread and butter pudding in the UK. I say almost because I would add a handful of dried fruit to that. And as Forest Parks says, our bread pudding is good too, rather more "solid" though, and can be sliced.

I think this is what we call Bread and Butter pudding in England.

You should try making English Bread Pudding some day. It's basically stale bread, currants, brandy, mixed spice, lemon peel and sugar all mashed up and then baked. It's delicious and very cheap to make.... but not very healthy!

Forest Parks's last blog post..Penguin swaps tuxedo for wet suit

oh...and save the bean! throw it in to a container with two cups of sugar, and you have the best vanilla sugar for your coffee after a few days!
