Wordless Wednesday (Not So Wordless)

This is the sofa that my husband and I purchased about 20 years ago. It, along with the matching loveseat, was perfect in our living room in our first home in California. Since then, it’s been sort of a non-fit. It was okay in Houston, but after that, it really hasn’t matched any of our decor. With this last move, the sofa has been relegated to the garage. The loveseat is in my daughter’s t.v. room, for now.

Finally, my husband has allowed me to donate the sofa to charity. It is now sitting in the driveway waiting to be picked up, along with a few misceallenous items. This has opened up a huge chunk of floor space in the garage!

Kim – We like the sofa too, we just don’t have any room to put it in anymore and it’s getting ruined sitting out in the garage. I’d rather give it to someone that can use it than let that happen.

Wow! They sure don’t make furniture to last like that anymore! That couch is in better shape then our set we just bought 3 years ago.

I love that couch! I thought the set looked good in the formal living room in New Lenox. I still need to see the house in Dallas.

That couch looks surprisingly clean after 20 years of use plus being stored in the garage.

    Happy Wordless Wednesday!

Jolene – We bought a sofa about 8 years ago that didn’t last a year before all the cushions were flat and it looked like we’d had it forever. We gave it away, it was horrible!

Sue – My husband definitely has a hard time parting with stuff. I got him to let me put an empty box in the recycling today and that was a major accomplishment!

Greg – If I recall correctly, I believe you’ve slept on that couch in the past!

    Grace – I might miss it a little. :-D

Vixen – I’d have even more room in that darn garage if I’d ever unpack the last of the boxes from when we moved in! :-D

Penelope – I’m hoping someone at the thrift shop will find it useful.

Haley – I think the picture is making it look cleaner than it is. It could really stand a professional cleaning, and it would then probably look like new.

Okay first of all that sofa doesn’t look a day over 10, and second of all it sounds like you’re itching to get rid of the loveseat too, lol.

    P.S. I’m impressed by your email follow-ups.

Natalie – It is amazing how good it feels to get rid of stuff! Yesterday was trash and recycling pick up day and I love that my recycling bins were both filled to the top!

Karen – That made me sad! I’ll have to tell you the rest of the sofa story! LOL

Toronto – Yes, you guessed it, I would LOVE to get rid of the loveseat too, but I guess that will be for another pick up!
