Finished Bag

posted in sewing |

I finished this bag a month or so ago and never got a chance to post it. The bag fabric and the outer pocket fabric is opposite black/white pattern from each other. You have to look closely to see it. The flower on the middle pocket was machine embroidered by me and there is an identical one on the back side. This bag is made from 100% quilters cotton and interlined with craft fleece. I used fusible interfacing in the pockets which adds to the firmness and provides support to the bag. This tote bag is fully lined and the 26″ handles are lined with craft fleece for additional comfort and support.

This is one of my favorite tote bag patterns and I love being able to add the embroidery work.

This fabric is very pretty and I think the added embroidered flower adds such detail to it. Good job Lynne!

I love this bag! My sewing skills are rusty since I’ve been focusing on jewelry but I got busy with a purse/tote last night and it was so fun and relaxing! Mine will never turn out as gorgeous as yours but maybe one day…lol

    Great work!

My wife did something like this for her purse and then the diaper bag. It’s funny, both have lasted longer than bags she purchased. I am all for projects like these and having something you’ve made that you can be proud of. She gets all kinds of comments on how cute her bags are. You should see their eyes when she tells them where they came from.

Now that’s a pretty bag. I suck at sewing and am lucky I can sew up holes in some of my clothes albeit very badly. You’d think I’d be better to considering I can cross stitch like there’s no tomorrow but I guess that’s not the same.
