The Best of Intentions

posted in home |

Today just really got away from me.  I had such good intentions when I got up this morning, but it was so very nice out, comfortable enough to actually enjoy being outside without being IN the swimming pool.  I just had to take advantage and spend some time cleaning up after our 3 straight days of wind storms.  We had branches and leaves in our pool that made it look like it hadn’t been used in a very long time.

I also spent the afternoon at a lab having an MRI and CT scan done of my head, brain and sinuses.  I am, along with my doctor, on a mission to find out what is behind the constant headache I have had for the last 6-8 months.  Hopefully, we’ll get to the bottom of it soon.  As I said to my doctor the other day, I actually don’t remember what it feels like for my head NOT to hurt.

So, I apologize for not making good on my good intentions of the day.  I had big plans for things I wanted to get done with my blog, but they all too a back seat to life away from my computer.  I feel fairly confident that tomorrow may see more of the same.  I have a few errands to run and the weather may be too nice for me to sit inside.

One thing is for sure, I’ll be back in the morning for Four Foods on Friday!  See you then.

Hi, just wanted to extend some sympathy about your headaches. I’ve been struggling with migraines for years, and there are days when you just can’t get anything done. I truly hope the doctors are able to find something to help you.

Thanks very much! I’m not having any luck with the doctors figuring out what’s wrong. My CT scan showed no sign of sinus infection, so I’ll have to wait and see what else we can do. I’m keeping a journal of my headaches, weather, diet, etc., over the next month and maybe that will help determine a cause.

I understand completely! There is so much to be done, but yet I want to capture just a little more summer laziness!

P.S. I am having a contest on my blog! I hope you come back to enter!

The weather yesterday was soooo beautiful. Sadly it is not going to last long.

I hope they find out the source of your headaches. I know in my experience 2-3 months of testing resulted in them finding nothing, and just telling me to pretty much live with it, or adjust what I do on a day to day basis.

I know that keeping a headache journal really helped a ton. I really recommend making it as detailed as possible, not only what you eat, the weather, but also the time you go to bed and get up and any changes in schedule or particularly stressful events.

The doctors never really figured it out but they were able to at least get me medication to keep it under control so I could keep working. There is hope!

Really love the theme for your blog btw!

Good luck and well wishes on the results of your tests. I know what anxiety you can experience waiting for these things, having had them myself for similar reasons. I hope you get to the bottom of the problem, whatever it is.

Don’t worry so much if you miss something like a blog post. Your health is so much more important.

    Take care

Thanks for the tips. I just started my daily journal and I will add the items you mentioned. I have a feeling we’re not going to get an answer either, but, I have to try.

I’m not overly anxious now that the tests are over. I had a feeling they weren’t going to provide much of an answer. I am exercising more and I feel better, except for my headaches, because I’m also eating better than I ever thought I would. Something good is all ready coming from all of this! :-D

Sue - I’ve purchased many different yogurts in the past and this Dannon Light & Fit is the first one I can actually recommend! My daughter and I both really enjoyed the vanilla flavor.

I had headaches that lasted for years. I had a migraine that last something like 9 weeks, I had to go to hospital, and stay for days, for that one.

So it turned out to be a lot of things triggering it. First the Pill when I got off the pill, I went down two a headache a week. Then certain food, no red wine for me. Also I found taking an Clartin pill everyday helped a lot.

Beth - I’m so thankful my headaches are not migraines, those are truly unbearable. I’m in the process of trying to figure out if there is a trigger for mine. I do take claritin most days, but it doesn’t seem to do much for my headaches. It does help with my eyes and nose though.
