Not So Wordless Wednesday

posted in sewing |

I purchased this fabric last week for a quilt I am going to be making in a class I signed up for. The class is a beginning piecing class. While I have pieced together fabrics for tote bags and purses, I’ve not done anything larger than that. I also haven’t worked much with triangles or smaller pieces, so I thought I could learn a lot from the class.

Today was the first of four sessions. I will go once a week. Today we simply cut all the pieces and it took almost 3 hours to do that. This was a good process for me because I’m not good at laying the fabric out and cutting. I feel like I’ve all ready learned some helpful techniques that I can use.

Oh my goodness … fabric lust! The last thing I need in this world is to reignite my lust for fabric. But come to think of it, my sewing machine needs repair.

Nice combination. I’m looking forward to seeing the final project.

Grace - I’m not sure what they’re called. They were just in colors I liked. I don’t even think they’re all from the same manufacturer!

Hilary - I’m totally addicted to fabric and do well to stay away from the quilt shops! I did decide that I needed to put some of my fabric to use and so am taking this class. I’ll try to post pictures each week of what I accomplish in class. :-D
