Not So Wordless Wednesday

posted in sewing |

This is almost wordless, but not quite. I pieced together this twin size quilt top using The Hungry Caterpillar fabric based on the book from Eric Carle. I received the backing fabric in the mail yesterday and I believe that my mom has agreed to hand quilt this for me. When finished, it will be a gift to my granddaughter.

This is so-oo pretty. The Hungry Caterpillar looks so familiar, I think someone who thought my kids were still toddlers gave us the book a few years ago(LOL).

Wow that is beautiful! You amaze me with your skills! I hardly ever sew anymore. I have to sew some drapes for the winter and am dreading it. Great job in your quilt!

By the way, does that math spam protection plugin work? Do you get less spam?

Clair - That’s kind of funny! At least it’s a good book!

Rebecca - I have a window valance that I’ve been meaning to make for over a year, but I don’t really enjoy that kind of sewing, so it doesn’t get done.

As for the math spam protection, it definitely helps. I’ve had it so long that I don’t remember not having it. This blog only receives a few spam comments a day and they go into my akismet spam folder. My other blog still receives over 100 a day for some reason, but, at least they’re going into the spam folder.

That is really stunning, I’ve never seen anything like it - that is going to make an awesome gift! I hate sewing. I only sew under extreme duress. DH knows if he loses a button off a shirt, don’t expect it back any sooner than at least two weeks until I work myself up to doing it. I wish I liked to sew - you make such cool stuff!

It will be beautiful. I can only do basic squares. I still haven’t mastered sewing the backing to the top, but I will get there!
