Let’s Get Back To The Tap And Away From Plastic Bottles

**NOT A PAID REVIEW**

I don’t know about you, but I drink a lot of water.  When I’m at home I tend to drink filtered water from my refrigerator, but when I’m on the go, I typically take a pre-packaged bottle of water with me for convenience.   I am concerned however, about the affects all of these disposable plastic bottles are having on our environment and have wondered if there wasn’t a better way for me to have my water and take it with me too.

I recently received a box in the mail and, to my delight, I discovered a very special water bottle inside, the Back to the Tap Filtered Sports Bottle.  This isn’t just any ordinary sports bottle either, this bottle is designed to filter as you drink.  The bottle comes with a carbon composite filter that attached easily to inside of the bottle’s cap.   As you drink from the bottle, the water travels through the filter and then out the cap.  The filter will treat up to 80 gallons and is designed to reduce chlorine, lead, mercury, copper and other biological impurities, including pharmaceuticals.

My new water bottle showed up just in time too as I was just getting ready to start back to work.  For the last two weeks, I’ve filled my Back To The Tap Filtered Sports Bottle with cold water from my kitchen tap and taken it to work with me.  The room I’m doing my training in is very dry and so I’m so glad I’ve had my water bottle with me.  I’ve been able to refill it during the day directly from the water fountain at the office and I know that, once the water has gone through the carbon composite filter, I’m drinking clean water.

I for one am so happy with my own Back To The Tap Sports Bottle and I recommend them highly to anyone who drinks water from any other type of bottle. Besides being an excellent water bottle and delivering clean water through its filter, I’ve learned that for ever Back To The Top Filtered Sports Bottle purchased, Back To The Tap will donate $1 to Earth Share, a national federation that supports environmental and conservation organizations.

I want to tell you that I am not being paid for this review, I just am very happy with the product and the company behind the product. I also very much like the idea of reducing the number of plastic bottles that are ending up in our landfills. If you’re interested, check out www.backtothetap.com and get one for yourself.

I agree with you that people should be drinking more tap water and less bottled water to save the environment and reduce plastic waste. That being said, in Arizona the Arsenic levels in water are 25 ppb, which is the legal limit that is safe by the government, scientists have shown that even arsenic levels at 25ppb are shown to cause cancer and other health ailments over 10+ years of sustained intake. The entire state is trying to revamp their water supply to bring the arsenic levels to a lower level, the government is about to change it to 50ppb I think.

So be sure to know the mineral content of your city/state’s Tap Water, if arsenic levels are higher than 50ppb, then I would stick with purified or spring water.

These bottles could save my family so much money. With my luck though my kids would probably throw them out.

I wonder how often the filter needs to be changed?

    Thanks for sharing.

I have one of those, and JUST LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! You need to replace the filter every 3 months, so it’s very conveniente, and the replacement filters are just $20 x 2…. The design is GREAT!! Easy to carry and even goes through Airport check out places as it’s empty and you can just fill it out inside. Save so much money already. I give it to everyone as a gift as it’s priced right! and Earth friendly.. Also w/ every purchase you donate $1 to Earthshare. Just a great idea!! Can’t live without it.
