Kmart Still Does Layaway!

Kmart Still Does Layaway!

I’ve been noticing the new Kmart television ads recently and it got me to thinking, is Kmart the only retailer that still does layaway? I do believe it is, and, if so, what a great advantage for Kmart! This is a great service and, in this down economy, it’s a great convenience for shoppers, especially for the holidays.

Think about it, many parents all ready know the big ticket items that their kids want this year and yet, we wait to purchase that item because we are saving up the money for it. Then, when we finally have the money for the most wanted item that our kids want, it’s sold out, can’t find it anywhere. Layaway allows us to place the item on “hold” with a small down payment and small payments over an 8 week period of time. In other words, we parents can relax because we have our kids most wanted items on reserve and know that Christmas morning, there will be smiles all around. I’m thinking that a few Wii games will be perfect for me to put on Kmart Lay-Away now and not have to worry about them being in stock as the holidays get closer. The popular video games always end up being hard to find after Thanksgiving.

Another great reason to use layaway? Kmart stores your gifts for you, so you don’t have to hide them around the house and hope that your snooping children don’t find them! Truly, layaway allows the buyer to purchase items over time without putting it on a credit card and get charged high interest rates. I personally think it’s fabulous!Click Here

This game was really fun, especially with 4+ people. The levels are challenging and the minigames on each board are really exciting. This would make an awesome holiday gift!

Layaway is the best thing ever I was so mad at Walmart when they stopped doing it. I will be heading out to Kmart very soon to use their layaway.

I remember lay-away! My mom always used it when I was little and then I used it quite a bit myself as a teen and young adult. Really if you think about it, it is also a great way to buy something with cash, instead of credit, too. I am glad to see that some stores still offer this service.

I though lay-a-way were things of the past like doctor’s making house calls. Thanks for the useful heads up as the holidays approach.

Thanks Jules - I hate buying these Wii games without knowing if they’re worth the money. They’re too expensive to buy and not like!

Tina - I agree, layaway is a great way to go!

Ladyhawkcj - Yep, WalMart may have shot themselves in the foot by getting rid of layaway.

Bella Casa - I think layaway is such a great alternative to credit cards. I really don’t know why more stores don’t use it, this is a huge plus in Kmart’s favor.

Carol - It does seem like Layaway is prehistoric, doesn’t it?! In times like these, it can sure be a blessing though.

I think it is great that KMart is still doing layaway. Not only is it a great way to break up the expense of the Holidays, but also nice to be able to keep gifts hidden away somewhere outside the house!
