Four Foods on Friday #54
In honor of this weeks elections here in the U.S., this weeks theme is red, white and blue! If you’d like to participate, head on over to Fun, Crafts and Recipes and have fun!
This weeks questions and my answers:
#1. Name a food you like that uses a red sauce or anything red in it. Well, I just have to go with spaghetti sauce! I always make marinara with meat sauce. If I leave the meat out then we can also use the sauce on top of ravioli.
#2. Name a food you like with whipped cream in it or on it. I like a dab of whip cream on a big cup of hot chocolate. I also love cool whip on pumpkin pie.
#3. Name a food you like with blueberry in it. I love fruit salads with blueberry, yogurt parfaits with blueberries and blueberry pancakes.
#4. Share a recipe for pasta or dessert or a beverage I just found this recipe this morning and am looking forward to trying it.
- Tiramisu Bowl
1 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
3 c. cold milk
2 pkgs. vanilla instant pudding mix
1 oz. tub cool whip, thawed
48 Nilla wafers
1/2 c. brewed coffee, cooled
2 squares semi-sweet chocolate, grated
1 c. fresh raspberries
Beat cream cheese in a large bowl with electric mixer until creamy. Gradually beat in milk. Add dry pudding mixes, mix well. Stir in 2 c. of whipped topping.
Line bottom and sides of 2 1/2 qt. bowl (a clear glass one if you have it) with 24 of the wafers, drizzle with half of the coffee. Layer half of the pudding mixture over wafers and tehn top with half of the grated chocolate. Repeat all layers starting with the wafers and coffee. Top with remaining cool whip and raspberries. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. Keep leftovers stored in refrigerator (if you have any leftovers!)
