I loved the big walking doll that came with a stuffed poodle that I received one year. That was the same year my grandma slept in my bed and left green snot on my pillowcase. Ooops. When I was about 10, there was a box under the tree with my name on it. I opened it only to find another box. Second box opened to reveal a third box. There was one more box, I think, then a wad of tissue paper. I started to unroll the tissue paper and it seemed to go on forever! Finally, I came to the prize ... a Black Hills gold ring. I loved my ring! I kept it for a couple of decades, but it was stolen in a house burglary while we were living in LA. The loss of that ring, plus the string of pearls my grandmother gifted me upon my birth was most devastating. (Ack ... I didn't mean for this to end on a sad note!)
