I saw the gadget segment on the Today show this morning and they had a little key fob that connected one end to your luggage handle and the other end you kept with it. Then, when you went to find your luggage at the airport, you hit the button and your suitcase would supposedly beep at you. That’s assuming you could hear it in all the noise of the airport luggage area!
Tonight I saw a much better idea for luggage identification. While reading the The Best of DIY, I saw a post about a Luggage Handle ID Wrap. This is a wrap that you can make yourself out of your favorite brightly colored fabric, wrap it around the handle of your suitcase and then you can easily tell which suitcase is yours at aglance. You can even find the tutorial for this handy luggage handle at Turkey Cookies. This is so simple and such a great idea!
My husband and daughter both have the week of from work and school. It’s so nice to have time to be together and just relax, no plans. The only shopping I need to do is at the grocery store and so, hopefully, I’ll be able to avoid the crowds. One of our favorite things to do when we’re at home together is to watch movies. This is such a great time of year for watching all the old classic holiday movies that we love. Just the other night we sat together and watched Cary Grant in The Bishop’s Wife while we ate warm apple pie with ice cream that my husband had picked up while running errands. It was such a great way to spend the evening.
Of course, we also like adding to our movie viewing by watching some of the more recent movies and one that has come to my attention is All Roads Lead Home The Movie, inspired by a true story. It’s a great family movie that shows how a family deals with tragedy. This movie is coming out on DVD on January 13 and is available now for pre-order. This is definitely the kind of movie you can watch with the kids and a giant bowl of popcorn and I’m sure we’ll be adding it to our DVD collection.
Feel free to watch this trailer and I’m sure you’ll then be wanting to add it to your collection too.
I received the Buterfly Award from Teresa at all about Top Cat Creations and Liza at Moms…check nyo and I love it! This is such a “cool” award! Thanks ladies! Here are the rules of this award:
~ Put the logo on your blog.
~ Add a link to the person who awarded you.
~ Nominate 10 other blogs.
~ Add links to those blogs on yours.
~ Leave a message for your nominees on their blogs.
Well, I have to say, 10 blogs is an awful lot of blogs, especially since I’ve been passing on awards lately left and right. So, if you’ve taken the time to read this post, consider yourself nominated! Leave me a comment and I will add your link to this post.
So my daughter finished her last day of school yesterday and now is off for the next 2 full weeks. My husband came home from work Thursday night and informed me that the company he works for decided to have everyone take this coming week off, and I was laid off in October, so I’m home too. What are we going to do? We have absolutely no plans and plenty of time. We don’t have a lot of money as we’ve really tightened our budget this year, but it would sure be nice to do something together besides sit at home. I think that Vacations To Go is the perfect place for me to check and find something exciting and spontaneous for us to do next week at up to a 75% savings.
I’m going to check out some special last minute deals at Vacations To Go to see if there are any bargain cruises leaving out of Galveston. Perhaps we can get a good rate and it would be a wonderful surprise for my daughter who has never been on a ship as large as a cruise ship. I’m not a big cruise person, I don’t like being out on the water. But, a short cruise would suit me just fine and so, if the 90 Day Ticker tool at Vacations To Go has anything good to offer right now, we’ll be packing our bags! Cruises out of Galveston make port calls in Florida and the Bahamas which is someplace I’ve always wanted to visit. If not the Bahamas, we could go to Jamaica or Cozumel, Mexico.
I’m thinking that if I can’t get something for this coming week, Spring break will be here before we know it and we could just as easily go then. What about you, have you ever gone on a cruise?
I feel so fortunate to have been introduced to the world of blogging, I have met so many wonderful friends and have come to love reading so many other blogs. When I’m not sewing, I’m blogging and it’s been a way for me to stay connected. In the process of me finding new blogs, my blog has been discovered by others. A few of those bloggers have chosen to bestow awards on my blog and, while I’m very slow on writing this and the following posts (I’m breaking it up into multiple posts), here goes.
First, I have received the Lemonade Award, not just once, but twice. I received it from Judy at More Than Sew So and from Duni at Lovely Purses. Thank you ladies! Here are the rules for Lemonade Award.
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show great Attitude and / or Gratitude.
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.
I do apologize for not nominating others, but I can think of way too many blogs that qualify and can’t make up my mind!
